NDE's aren't proof of anything... As long as the neurons don't die from hypoxia the brain is still viable.

Life, and reality, exist as an endless, infinitely repeating loop. When you die, you are born again, as yourself, and live the exact same life. In between, the universe dies and is born again also, and continues up until the time in it in which your life happens to experience it. And so on.

Something I always found interesting was that the Tibet religion believed it took 49 days to reincarnate into the next life. While there is no proof of this, it's interesting to note that there is proof that the human pineal gland becomes visible in the developing fetus at 49 days after conception.

I know the pineal gland secretes tryptamine compounds and decarte called it the seat of the soul, but I don't see what role it plays in after death consciousness.

It's all so simple. Our souls are the beads, reality is the anus. Time is the hand that moves it all.

Tibetan Buddhists who have studied this question very thoroughly are adamant that when we die, we enter a state of consciousness where we have to make some absolutely critical choices and decisions that determine the next chapter of our existence. They advise that cross into this state with total and complete sobriety as the wrong choice can be disastrous. They state clearly there is as much deception and trickery in the afterworld as there is on the streets of NYC.
Eyes wide open.
-------------------- "The universe is endless, limitless and infinite. Any effort to define it's boundaries is an attempt to overcome ignorance. We are physical, mental and spiritual beings ... there is no beginning and there is no end. There is only memory. Our repeated loss of memory experiences create the illusion of beginnings and ends. Immortality is the ability to retain full memory through all consciousness transformations. Loss of memory is man's greatest curse and, in very real terms, death." -- Ancient Taoist Master

It provides the chemical reactions that release consciousness from the body.

And, that this physical world we are now in is best seen as a trap. There is opportunity to grow here, but it is not the best choice in terms of our next destination. it is our attachments and desire to "fix things" or "make things right" that get us to make bad choices.

You have a very interesting perspective. When you say our desire to fix things and make things right get us to make bad choices are you talking about wanting to fix the things we believe are wrong in the world (poverty, hunger, etc.)? I'm not criticizing, I just don't understand that part fully.

This isn't my perspective, it's the Tibetan's conclusion after studying this deeply for centuries. When we die, if we have resentments, or envy or unfulfilled ambitions, they can cause bad decisions in the afterlife. For instance, a desire to be wealthy or famous or to get even with an enemy or to fix a mistake we made or to "improve" the world in any way is kind of like bait to get us to come back to this reality system that needs souls to CHOOSE to incarnate here. That's how it all works. Every reality system needs souls to CHOOSE to come there or that reality system will fail.

Kind of makes me feel like an asshole when I was 14 and cussing at the sky for bringing me here when I never asked for it. Maybe I did after all So say you wanted to stay to "improve" the world but you weren't trying to be wealthy or anything, you just simply wanted to put more love on the planet. Would it be a bad choice to come back for this purpose? What do they believe we're meant to do here? (I'll do my own research later, getting ready for work right now)
