First Time LC using print from previous grow.
    #22142576 - 08/25/15 07:12 PM (8 years, 5 months ago)

So I usually go spore to BRF-cake, but this time I decide to try my hand at LC.  I have inoculated some jars and got what appears to be a cloud of white floating threads after seven days, almost like a bunch of white lint.  2 of my jars must not have gotten anything as they are perfectly clear.

These have not "plumed" or turned into puff-balls yet, and I have bits of broken clear glass to swirl and break up and chunkies... I just wanted to verify that it sounds about right for inoculation with 1 year old spores.  these are GT's by the way.

Thanks.

I would never ever, in a million years, recommend inoculating LC with spores.  But since you already have, almost everything that colonizes LCs looks like a whitish mass of mycelium, unless it's really really bad.  Only way to know anything is to test it.

I have no knowledge of any illegal activities that I may or may not have been involved in heard of saw or imagined. Any statements made by me have no basis in scientific facts or real life applications. I've never cultivated mushrooms or any other illegal substance and do not intend to do so ever. I read a book on it once but I'm dyslexic so I probably got shit backwards.

Yeah, I know... But was waiting for my petri dishes to get in, and I have plenty of spore to do it direct. I'm doing agar for the rest of course, but just wanted to see if there was any varification steps. I did everything ultra clean in a gb as well.

you should put together a SAB it works so much better.

You mean, take the gloves off his GB and watch as it magically transforms into an SAB.

Actually what I have is really a "still air box" as it is a large clear sterite box with 2 Ziploc containers siliconed into the side and uses the lids to cover. Then u wear elbow lenth gloves, so I guess technically it's not a glovebox per'se.

  That's how I generally do, although recently I just started using regular wrist-length disposable gloves because I wanted to see if it made a difference.  It doesn't for me so far.
