the pieces that are on my lid seem like they are rather sandwiching the lid, just poked through a hole and twisted tight... I'm right now using over 2 liters and still cooking dry after an hour. It's actually worse after I cleaned it after the PP mishap, since the toggle weight pin (the pin that closes the toggle vent) looks seriously botched (it's not nice and conical anymore, nor is it a smooth surface)...
It seems that this is a gauge with a sandwich-the-lid-style connection, no? Or is that the wrong piece alltogether?

sandwich the lid is sometimes referred to as a bulk head fitting or all as one word bulkhead. taken from the use in ships like portholes and manway doors.
those will work if the hole is the right size for the fitting/gauge you buy

Or if I drill an extra hole...? So that 1 quart of water would be for a sterilizer setup I assume? That would actually fit great! I'm waiting to put the weight back on for the second hour-long-PCcycle right now sucks having to PC twice for 1 round of jars...

I would not want to try to modify that cooker. It sucks that you live in Europe and real pressure cookers aren't easily obtainable. I'd bite the bullet and pay the extra huge mark-up to get a real PC just to avoid the bs of having to shut down and add more water for a tiny pc run. Just the time saved after a few batches is worth it.

hooked it up to an air pump, pushed it over 30psi. The safety vent was blowing the hole time, starting very softly between 16 and 18psi. I wasn't planning on running it anywhere above 16 anyway, just to be safe. It's just the water content loss that needs a fixing... And yes, I know, I'm saving up for a bigger one. At a certain point I'll probably break down and buy it before my savings really allow it, leaving me without weed for the rest of the month. But yes, it will be worth it...

so what exactly happens when the pressure goes too high on this thing? I got up to like 26 psi today(using the mods in OP), damn finicky gas stove.
I'm assuming the rubber plug just blows out and the thing rapidly vents..thought the valve itself was supposed to vent at like 23 psi or something though. Guessing it makes a noticeable venting noise when this happens.

If the plug blows out, it'll put virtually all the water that's in the cooker, on your walls, kitchen cabinets, ceiling, windows,... If you have a window close to the neighbors side in the kitchen, they'll probably see an instant dampening. The plug might shoot out, no idea what damage that can do, but I assume you wouldn't want to be in the line of fire. Same with the steam releasing, wouldn't want to get that on you either. The safety valve is designed to blow downwards though.

behind the fridge?
Those Presto plugs aren't reusable anyway They say the edge of the hole damages the plug when you try to take it out.

I've fucked around with those plugs so many times and they still hold to at least 20 psi, so I haven't worried too much about them. Just don't go off and watch a movie while it's pressurizing xD
Yeah it could be behind the fridge or idk my dog ate it maybe :/ shit disappeared and I couldn't pc anymore grains lol. It was a sad day

Thanks guys.
So the valve part in the OP though, thats supposed to automatically vent before the plug blows out correct? My gauge is probably just off and wasn't as pressurized as it said

Could be that the gauge is off.. It should indeed open before the plug.

Yes. The sterilizer valve should pop open before the plug blows out. I believe ~27psi is when the newer valves open.

The vacuum/negative pressure is great for spawn bags. I can wheel the PC(s) into the lab and break the seal in the sterile flow.
But leaving it to cool overnight, with a vacuum pulling the needle below zero, has fucked up the gauge on my 925. Now it reads 3psi with no pressure. I've been cooking at 20+psi [according to the messed up gauge] to be sure to reach sterilization temp.
Thinking I need a new gauge, one that measures pressure and vacuum. Recommendations? Advice?

I believe the needed info is earlier in this thread.
Here is the gauge I use: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00DVJTQH0
You will need an adapter piece from ace hardware to go from 1/4" on the gauge to 1/8" on the lid. https://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/22556793#22556793
Ace near me did not have them and for some reason couldn't get them. There are other options online too.

Holy crap. I can't believe that this thread still lives on. Sorry for the deleted pics. I cleared my photo album of certain pics. I believe the gist of the info is still up to date.
Thanks for all the positive feedback.
