This is a very simple and easy modification for a new All-American 930. Sitting down with a crescent wrench it literally took me about 5 or 6 minutes to take off the old parts and install the new red plug and the new valve with teflon tape--even with a wrench that was a little bigger than optimal.
As pointed out previously, all these parts are meant to be replaceable and it really is a no-brainer.
Everything worked fantastically, without a hitch, but it is not quite silent. I didn't think about the gurgling of the boiling water which I didn't notice much before with the annoying hiss of the weight valve system

Thank you Tahoe and everyone else who contributed to this thread!

Nice, that's how these installs should go!!
It's as silent as your going to be able to get it. I can have my 941 and 930 running on my stove and have people over and they don't even realize they are running until I point it out and tell people not to touch them and burn themselves. I can hear the water boiling inside from a couple feet away. And once pressure is reached and the heat turned down that noise is even less.
I bet if a presto had a stopcock mod you would hear alot more of the boiling water inside that way thinner vessel.

I bought an old 7qt AA. It came with a stopcock and metal excess pressure plug. I uninstalled the stopcock and the metal plug and I cannot for the life of me get a new stopcock to thread into it in either hole. But the old stopcock threads in just fine in either hole. I was able to thread a PC vent pipe into either hole on the 7qt with no problem.

The stopcock I am trying to use I uninstalled from my 921 to install into the 7qt. I have another stopcock that the deflector shield came off of that I put on the 921 since its location on that cooker doesn't seem to need a deflector shield as much as the location on the 7qt.
I'm not sure a new excess pressure relief valve will thread in properly on this lid either. Gonna have to order one and find out.
7qt on the left, 941 and 921 on the right:

Break down and sacrifice the shipping money! You'll probably never need anything else PC again, certainly no sealing rings. The valve crossover is a real pleasure to use so long as you monitor it well enough.
It uses a lot less energy to run and I even sprang for some distilled water to use in the thing because I can use it over, and over, and over...(after I figured out how to not blow up sealed spawn bags and spoil it with grain residue)
I love my 930--biggest one I've owned--and with my schedule, I could use another one. Some day, if I stay with the hobby longer this time, I'll probably spring for a 941 too. I really wanna grow some conks, oysters, and whatever tastes good for dinner. Squeezing four 4-quart bags into the 930 seems to work well so far but is a slight PITA!

I wish but it will probably never happen. I think the chances of me finding someone that is able to build one for me are better than having enough cash to buy one. A 75x sterilizer would cost me $1200+import tax.

No, I did not attempt to rethread the holes with a tap. Old stopcocks screw into the lid with no issue. Now that I think about it though, the new stopcock I tried installing I had installed into the 921 previously and may have screwed it into the 921 a bit further than needed and sorta flattened the first few threads on the bottom of the stopcock making it have difficulty threading onto this lid. Gonna take the one I installed into the 921 the other night(not very tightly so the threads should be ok) and try it on this little AA and see if I have better luck.

Keep an eye out on ebay. There have been 3 on there recently. I snagged 2 of em. The make an offer button is great on ebay when the listings have em. Sometimes you can get nice deals. I missed the auction on the 3rd one. But the winner wound up paying more for it than I did for either of the 2 I got and I got more extras(racks\perforated sterilizer type basket) with mine.

How did you polish it? Tools? Chemical polish?
I see that CLR is not an option for aluminum.

I used goof off to remove gunk like the glue leftover from the lid sticker and also around the retaining bayonets under the lid. Then I used a little bit of mothers aliminum polish to polish it up with a couple rags, one to apply and one to wipe clean. I used the same rag to apply and wipe away, just use clean portions of the rag to wipe the polishing compound off the aluminum. Then a quick rinse with hot soapy water and a sponge.
I was gonna use CLR to remove rust marks from using jar bands as spacers against the cooker walls in my larger cookers but have not after reading the label. I believe I read someone say they used CLR without issue on their AA. I suppose as long as the exposure to the CLR is only a few minutes its probably not that big of a deal as long as it's rinsed well afterwards. Leaving CLR in contact with the aluminum for hours might be an issue. I will try CLR next time I get around to cleaning up the rust marks from jar lid bands again.

Hey guys, any of you have an idea on weather my PC could be changed into a sterilizer? Dunno if the rocker weight outlet or the safety valve have any threads on em, and can't try to unscrew everything right now because I'm using it the next few days. It's one in stainless steel, walls are quite thin, but I'm assuming 15 PSI won't be an issue. It's water content and loss that's the problem now, don't really feel the need to go for higher pressure.
Also, how much water would you guys use in one of these? It's between 6 and 8 qts, dunno the exact volume...
Thx!

On the inside (other side o t lid) there's two hexagon shaped outlets, one about an inch long for the rocker, and one very shallow, for the safety valve. Doesn't really look like there's anything that would readily fit a manometer...

I think you're shit out of luck. That's a pressure cooker for life.
I would use at least 1 quart of water in there. That may mean not fitting as much media in there but better than running dry
If you had a tap and die set and we're good at that stuff you may be able to work that into a sterilizer but I wouldn't cut threads into a cooker lid myself. The places that would be threaded are likely reinforced with more material
