White frosted blue-green mold on my cap?
    #22140305 - 08/25/15 10:54 AM (8 years, 5 months ago)

I am unsure if this is a contam on the cap of my single mushy? Strain is Penis Envy (if that matters)

If it is, can the mushroom be discarded and the cake saved?

:ugh: I would pick that and toss it man. Hopefully the rest of the cake isn't completely contaminated.

Found another one with a similar condition.

Whatever it is, it isn't infecting any of the other fruits or cakes.

Curious if anyone can identify it?

Vert or bacteria. Leaning more so towards bacteria. If you could put it under a microscope i could tell you easily. It's a sign of needing more fae. Both of those don't thrive well in a high fae environment.

Give this a read: http://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/20195542 If you follow it exactly, and understand the principle, poke out any restrictions in the bottom holes, and keep it in an extremely open room, it should have no fae issues.

Awesome share. Very helpful.

Thank you.

After reading the article, I see my error and that is exactly what's going on.

It's also dramatically slowing growth rates.

I will make the changes suggested and moderate accordingly.

Thanks again.
