Floatation Tanks?

Hey everyone I've been looking into flotation tanks recently and I'm deeply fascinated by them. I found a place that offers 90 min for $100 and because of the price I am thinking to treat myself for my birthday which is two months from now give or take. Has anyone ever tried one of these? What was it like? Do you get hallucinations and spiritual experiences when in the tanks? Would an hour and a half be worth the price? and lastly has anyone ever tripped inside the tank?

Step 3: Enjoy the mini trip

I've tried it once recently. It was a 60 minute float on a combination of cactus juice and 4 hits of LSD. It was very nice. I recently found a place locally that offers an introductory deal of 3 90 minute sessions for $99. I bought the package. Next float will be 4 aco dmt I think.

If I remember correctly there's a member here who works at a place that does this.
There's a few places around here that do it, personally I would probably buy a package deal or try a shorter session before jumping into a 90 minute one. You don't necessarily know how much you'll like it, or if you'd find a shorter session more beneficial. 90 minutes seems like a long time to me if you're new to it, I don't meditate all that much, so I imagine I'd have a harder time than someone who did.

For me 60 minutes felt very short. I wasn't ready to come out. I've done a lot of meditation practice in my life though, so it may have been easier for me to get "in the zone" than it would for some other people. And I was tripping face too so...
And yeah it Psybaba who works at one in Portland. I'd like to go visit it one day. That's a great town. Used to live the next town over.

That must've been sick. I've always wanted to try it while tripping, but tbh, most places around here are spas, and I'd feel weird talking to the receptionist while coming up one mushrooms or something.
I've done guided meditation before but in small capacities, I'm not in any sense of the word experience when it comes to meditation in general, so I don't know how I'd fare in a longer float. I have a hard time relaxing and getting to that state of mind to begin with, so I imagine it'd take more than one session for me to start getting a lot out of it.

Yeah the reception part was a little challenging while coming up to our peaks. My friend and I are both very experienced tripping in public though, so we managed.

Well you're not supposed to. I've never let that stop me from taking drugs though. We dosed well before we got there.

a few years ago one of my really good friends was in some class at university and somehow they ended up offering the whole class a free 60min session in one of these flotation/isolation tanks....my friend didnt do it for some reason but he said his friend in the class did and ended up having basically a wet dream while in the tank and jizzed while he was in there
i wonder how common that is

The good ones have a built in filtration system, but I don't know how fast it cycles the water through and how much time it runs between sessions. Also the water is ultra salted with epsom salts, which pretty well kills the vast majority of any germs and stuff. But still...

damn i didnt know that some had filtration systems...i assumed it was like a big enclosed bath tub that they drain and refill every session, but i guess youd be wasting a lot of the salts then which would make it more expensive
and yeah...no matter what they have in the water thats still pretty nasty

I think it takes like 800 pounds of epsom salts for a float tank. They ain't gonna be replacing that every session.

damn thats a shitload of salts....do you shower right after getting out? and youre supposed to shower before getting in?
and i totally didnt realize they used that much salt - i cant imagine the price of a session if they changed the water and remixed the salts after every customer

I did hear joe rogan talk about it which made me fascinated although I've heard of them before. Is it a mind altering experience while in the tank? To me it seems like it could be like a dissociative trip because all you're senses are pretty much taken away from you.

I do . I just survived working the annual float conference (almost 500 people). AWESOME experience, got to hand the head researcher music from my record label to use in his research float tank.

Nice. I'll have to check that out. I'm only just getting into floating, so it would be interesting to learn more about it.

Looking forward to my appointment tomorrow. Got a 90 minute this time rather than the 60 minute last time. Thinking I'll dose some 4 aco dmt before I go it. Should be legit.
