Tripping to help find authentic self

Ello Shroomery,
I've been pondering lately on delving into the world of DMT. I have experience with psychedelics in the past and I'm usually fine, except with shrooms I get terrible anxiety.
I'm just wondering if anyone wants to share their suggestions or stories with me before hand to help have a break through. From my understanding there's not much that can prepare you. I'm still curious if there's some stuff I should know before going into it.
I'm not doing it for fun & I'd like to break through to learn more about myself and the path before me. I've waited a really long time, never really wanted to fuck with it before. Am I hyping this up to much?

"Am I hyping this up to much?" - I would say not, this stuff is indeed legit and if you are serious about it and commit to it, i do think you will learn a lot about yourself, and more. It surely has opened my eyes...

I disagree that nothing can prepare you. I think someone very experienced in psychedelics, especially high doses, will be much more prepared for DMT than someone who hasn't much experience.
Here's the thing though, you say you want to do it to learn. What have you learned from other psychedelics? DMT is amazing, but I would save it for one of the lasts thing you do, after you feel like you have exhausted a lot of the potential from other psychedelics. I am not saying don't try it, I am just curious what your experiences with other psychs have been.
And youre not overhyping it. DMT is amazing.

DMT is beyond amazing when I do it. You have to be willing to study about the nature of self if you want to understand it better.
You always have self. You can never lose it even with amnesia.
Quote:
It is something we take for granted and make use of every moment of our lives, without which we are not what we think ourselves to be, and yet when we want to know it more deeply, it eludes us. When we know it, our life’s aim is fulfilled, we are free from all anxieties, all troubles.
We make use of words like knowledge, consciousness, awareness, intuition, almost as synonyms. Etymology, so far as abstract things are concerned, does not help us much. Usage takes us a long way, but leaves us short of the destination. Philosophical books, with their various arguments and conclusions, confuse us. All this because they try to explain that which is at the root of all explanations, and nothing can explain itself by itself. Any argument or explanation, talk or discussion, from start to finish, is all consciousness. Neither in dreams nor in the waking state are we free of it even for a split moment. Being always in and surrounded by it, how can we say what it is? For a thing to be known, it must be put in front of us. Being everywhere under all conditions, in and around us as well as in and around other things and beings, it cannot be known, except in bits, leaving out an almost infinite part of it, thus giving us the uncomfortable feeling that what little we know does not authorize us to assert we have known it. Still, no one, once they start thinking about it, can ever remain satisfied with a piecemeal knowledge of it.
It's the first psychedelic I would recommended for finding self. When I do it I "leave" body and mind. The world I know and the person ceases to be. I become one with infinity.

I used to have anxiety bad on shroom trips and just in general. I gotta say it is all about set and setting. Keep trying things until you get it right and you will have much better shroom trips.

-------------------- The mushroom speaks: '"I am old, older than thought in your species, which is itself fifty times older than your history. Though I have been on earth for ages I am from the stars. My home is no one planet, for many worlds scattered through the shining disc of the galaxy have conditions which allow my spores an opportunity for life... How the hypercommunication mode operates is a secret which will not be lightly given to man. But the means should be obvious: it is the occurrence of psilocybin and psilocin in the biosynthetic pathways of my living body that opens for me and my symbiots the vision screens to many worlds"

This is true! I haven't done them for so long but I would love to try them again in the right environment and with the right people! More interested in what DMT can offer as far as insight goes at the moment though. I still feel like I focus a lot on ego when shroom trippin.

I've tried acid more than a handful of times, love it but never have been "out of control" per say. I guess Im attracted to the idea of doing dmt to let go of this reality and see things differently. Before, I was very much attached to my views and was scared to see things differently even.
Now I'm just at the point where I don't even like what weed or alcohol does for me and acid doesn't seem to be life changing the way it used to be. I still always grow from my trips but more recently it's been kinda "meh"
DMT sounds awesome.

What's that quote from? Very well put and spot on because one of my fears doing DMT is losing myself and who I am. I want to find self as a bigger part of me for sure but also I want help finding a steady path to follow. I guess I don't understand anything really all that much. I want to focus on who I am and what I have to offer this world were in now.

Death is not an end, it is merely the opportunity for beginning. A beginning to feel grateful for, a sense of self and individualness. I think thats what life is..feeling individual, being yourself..having an ego. Being able to be such a small piece of the pie but feel like you’re the whole pie. Life is beautiful, but one must understand death is also beautiful and when one sheds the ego, there is all.
Soo well put. That line alone makes me appreciate life more deeply. Death is so unknown and scary but this little blurb eases that fear a lot more than I can tell you. beautiful

Well there's a saying... you're me and you're it!
All my limbs are calling me through the gates of cosmic perception I am the unlight Hear the call beyond the stars I am everything
Waters are expanding to satisfy my will to spread the disease of existence my mother enchained inside my womb the eye of omnipotence is now unleashed
Keeping The crown, sat on the throne the sun bows at my feet lay on the ground of my shiny home you are my reign
These chains of light have set the bound between space, a cage of dimensional limits knowledge will sleep eternally the eye of omnipotence is now unleashed
Keeping The crown, sat on the throne the sun bows at my feet the ocean of matter lay on my palm all is my reign
all the interstellar docks of sense are slaves to my pitch black
Empty is your meaning of time useless your perception of space
Formless eternally I stand before myself Universe is my name human understanding is futile bewilder will prevail
Saturnian - Rex Mundi
Keeping The crown, sat on the throne the sun bows at my feet lay on the ground of my shiny home you are my reign
Keeping The crown, sat on the throne the sun bows at my feet the ocean of matter lay on my palm all - is my reign
