Any other big fans here? I love how many classis influences they blend into some great classic rock groovy fusion goodness.
Just starting downloading a bunch more FLAC's of theirs from this site: bt.etree.org CRB
They sound so damn good, just wanted to share that for anyone who may be interested.
I am excited to see what else is on that site too.
Mhmmmm, chris is killing it on the harmonica solo right now, so damn groovy...

I just saw some video of Chris playing with Bob but didn't actually watch it.
That must have been a sweet show. I saw them once years ago but it was just a small local venue.

CRB holds a soft and cosmic spot in me heart (see my avatar). Know a few of the fellas in the group - real down to earth. TBH I was expecting a bit more from Phosphorescent Harvest, not to say that there aren't tasty tracks on there. I'm excited to see how Tony Leone will change the sound of the next record - hoping for the best. George Sluppick will be some big shoes to fill - his touch is indefinably his own and is reminisce of the jazz drummers which he studied under.
Think the problem with the last record is due to the fact that they have been touring non-stop for the last few years. Chris' voice seemed a bit tired. If you listen closely to the mix, you can hear Neal back him up on the harmonies much more than their first albums (to fill in the gap). Not to mention that some of the songs seemed like copies of their other material. Not slagging them off, just my opinion. Love the group and still believe that the best is yet to come as long as ego doesn't get in the way. Love the brotherhood...

That is a nice avatar indeed, now that you mentioned it I think I recognize it from searching up their art in the past. Some sweet stuff.
I dug their last album but I could see how it sounds like repeated material. They have a pretty distinct classic rock sound that is heavily influenced by a lot of classic bands which they tend to sound like. I have had many moments listening to them were someone will walk in and be like "is this xxxx song by the grateful dead" usually I don't even really hear it but I could see how others do.
Their jams are what really sell it all for me, Chris writes some beautiful and passionate songs which they then take out on amazing cosmic jams.
Some of it definitely sounds more original than other's but it all is great for the most part.

Just thought I would bump this to say I am going to upload some CRB songs on youtube today from some FLAC shows I downloaded.
I have been annoyed for awhile at some missing songs of theirs on youtube or ones with only low quality live versions.
Starting with Roll On Old Jeremiah since there was only meh live versions I could find. Next Will be Good Rockin Tonight or Musics hot.
If anyone has some requests I could get em on there too.

I see them every chance I get when they are in the area....I love all things about the Robinson brothers...I've seen them together in the Crowes and both separately in their individual bands....I love Rich's guitar style....but, I must say that they sound better (in my opinion) when they are together....too bad they can't get along for any length of time.

I love all their artwork, it has a cool style to it.
Any song requests? Uploading "Good Rockin Tonight" right now. Live version of About A Stranger next, thinking live Beggars Moon after that.
Already have a live version of Vibrations and Light Suite I need to upload too.

Truth... I've a fond memory of my first live Crowes set.
First Black Crowes show was on 4/20 at the Ryman Auditorium - Nashville, Tn w/ Jackie Greene as the lead guitar player (Luther Dickinson's first tour without them). Peter Frampton guested that night. Seen Frampton more times as a guest than headliner - funny thing. Then the next night they performed an all acoustic set with Sam Bush, Audley Freed, Chuck Mead and Old Crow Medecine Show. Was a big a fan before those shows, but went with a buddy who had them as his favourite band. Made it all the better. He and I met through CRB... Those Crow shows are some of my most fond memories... It's true what they say - happiness is best when shared.
Edit: And if anyone hasn't checked it out - listen to Rich's solo record "The Ceaseless Sight" - it has the feel of the Rolling Stones with the testosterone of a thousand burning suns. Joe Magistro slays it on percussion - the fills are reminisce of Ringo. Levon Helm's daughter (Amy) sings on a few tracks.
***Aside - Levon was the epitome of a 21st century man - modest as the moon. Privilege of my life was to visit and honour his and Rick Danko's grave in Woodstock, Ny. His daughter echoes that humility .

I bet those were some great shows
Happiness is best shared indeed.

I listened to some of one of Rich's albums once, I still need to give it another go one of these days as I don't think I finished it.
