Did a hyper-black hole spawn the Universe?

I posted these links in another thread and felt it warranted it's own discussion-
the notion is that our 3D Universe is the result of a collapsing 4 dimensional star in 'extra-space', and our 3D Universe is inside the singularity of that 4D star's black hole. The idea basically is that the edge of our Universe is the event horizon of that 4D stars black hole.
Interesting notion though IDK how plausible... would that 4D star be the resultant of a 5D black hole? It kind of affirms my personal opinion of the Universe being infinite and fractal - though as many have said the visualization of a 4D 'body' is basically impossible to visualize. It's like thinking in 3D from a 2D viewpoint.

Quote:
In our Universe, a black hole is bounded by a spherical surface called an event horizon. Whereas in ordinary three-dimensional space it takes a two-dimensional object (a surface) to create a boundary inside a black hole, in the bulk universe the event horizon of a 4D black hole would be a 3D object β a shape called a hypersphere. When Afshordiβs team modelled the death of a 4D star, they found that the ejected material would form a 3D brane surrounding that 3D event horizon, and slowly expand.

I've had a theory for a long time that the universe is pulsating. I think it starts with a huge explosion, expands, forms stars, etc. After it has expanded to the max it begins contracting again until there is a big crunch. This causes a huge black hole and all matter is gone. It then explodes once more starting the process over again.

That is actually called the Big Crunch theory
There's been quite a few arguments demonstrating why that theory is less plausible than what resulted from the Big Bang, though I can't remember the specifics.

It is one intriguing theory.
I believe its possible. If the 5D star (including time) collasped, it could have created a black hole, and the result is our 4D universe (3 spacial directions plus time).
But this Universe would have to come about inside its own "space" different than 5D star. Because if it was inside that star, it would be too chaotic.
This theory could explain dark matter and dark energy, which are artifacts of a 5D star.
Wild stuff man!
