The thing was there was no indication that he was in any distress until the last two days. Then it was over. After that we got two more shelter brothers. We figured Lola might be a little too dominant for just one new kitten so we got reinforcements. Anyway, Lola couldn't shit for some reason. Cost me $1300 for them to massage her, sedate her and keep her overnight after they squeezed the shit out of her. She did not like the enema

You know, Bubba got sick awful fast too. And he was real wobbly and couldn't walk. Of course, he was pretty obese and we were having a flea problem at the time too. I dunno. Too late to tell now.

Nothing about that is funny but I did find this statement pretty chuckle worthy.

I understand. From a distance it is kinda funny. From a bank account and seeing my girl suffer, not so much, but I can absolutely appreciate that there is serious humor there.

Vet bills are way too high. My mom used to spend a lot on animals and they usually died anyway. My bunny was sick late last year and I thought I would lose her but miraculously pulled through and got well again.

That's one of the reasons why I'm reluctant to own a pet. It's such an inherent cost. When I was a kiddo, my folks had a dog that ended up getting some type of blood disease at around age 6. They dumped some serious cash into the treatment and she lived for another 2 years. I'm not too sure it was realistically worth the cost in the long run. It seemed like it at the time.
It really is terrible to lose a pet.

I am never getting a cat under 2 years old again (both were found in alley ways abandoned) because disease typically only occurs under 2 years old

zappaisgod said: A few years ago I got two kittens from the shelter. One was a gorgeous grey whose fur felt like a a sable coat. One day he went spastic and I took him to the vet and they checked him out and said he was OK and sent him home. The next morning I saw the worst thing ever. He was falling down and trying to run and just totally fucked. I put him in the carrier and ran him to the vet before they opened and said, "He's dieing. Now" About a half hour later they told me Omar was dead. The idiot told me not to feel bad about how I handled it in terms of neglect. I told her I can only take him to you. You sent him home LAST NIGHT. I don't feel neglectful at all. How do you feel? They asked if I wanted to do an autopsy and I said you guys should be more interested in doing it than I am. My attitude is dead cat, not dead cat. Anyway they did an autopsy and two weeks later it came out as congenital protein amyloidosis. He naver had a chance and there was nothing anybody could have done, he was doomed at birth.
Damn, fellas.

Back to cuteness. It was kind of cute the original video, would have been better if the cat cooperated more. Asante, did that kid have some problem with its arms? They didn't stick out of the jammies. The kid definitely lit up when it saw the cat, must have liked it a lot. The cat was tired of playing I guess.
