That is also from 2013. The drought is getting very real. From what I understand almonds are extremely water needy. Who needs almonds? It is their top crop

Developed and nurtured with taxpayer dollars, the airline industry holds a special status in the United States From the early days of flight up through the early 1970s, the US government provided more than $155 billion in direct support for the aviation industry. Even after the industry was deregulated in the 1970s, federal and local governments have continued to play a crucial role in supporting the industry by providing infrastructure support, tax exemptions, and low-cost financing. The justification given for the government’s investment in the industry has been the crucial role the airlines play in facilitating commerce, providing jobs, and bringing the inhabitants of a vast continent closer together More recently, the terrorist attacks of 9/11 brought financial devastation to the industry and provided a compelling rationale for increased government subsidies After 9/11, the federal government not only provided the airlines with billions in cash grants, but also increasingly took on some of the economic risks associated with the industry’s operations, by acting as the airlines’ insurer, providing loan guarantees, and taking responsibility for airline employee pensions Even after the industry returned to profitability in 2006 and 2007, it continued to benefit from some of these federal subsidies

The drought is over. We have in-shore water temps approaching 80 degrees. This winter is gonna break rainfall records. El Nino to the max.

Cash Grants: 4.64 billion in taxpayer funds
Pension Bailouts: Pensions for 240000 airline employees assumed by federal corporation
War Risk Insurance: FAA took over from private sector role of providing War risk insurance after 9/11. (~ 340 million per year in industry savings)
Those are not loan guarantees

So they still pay for insurance but it just costs less? How much does the airline industry pay in taxes?

When did you become a meteorologist? I'll believe it when I see it.
You and me are gonna be forever New York vs California. By the way, upstate NY is a major agriculture area as well. And Long Island. Upstate would be better off if it was another state. California would be better off if it split in two as well.

I have a ton of respect for The State of New York. I think that our state's have common ground in being 2 of a very few contributing, non-deadweight states. I disagree about splitting California in 2 though. The North would be broke. Besides, someone has to keep those middle of the state Okies in line.

Every fisherman has a little meteorologist in them. (sounds dirty doesn't it?) It comes with the territory. The last time we had water conditions like this was 1997/98. The yellowtail fishing was great, and the winter was wet as fuck.

1.-the cash grants were referenced in the provided link. 2.-Assuming the pension liabilities of the airlines isn't for the airlines? 3.-They pay less for insurance because the Gov't provides it at lower cost that the private sector. Kinda like single payer health care. Why would that model be good for airlines, but bad for the population as a whole? In either event, that certainly seems like a subsidy to me. 4.-i don't know what they pay in taxes, but i do know what tax exemptions they get in California. They have State and local sales tax exemptions on Jet Fuel. Estimated value of 800 million between 2005 and 2009

The Federal Gov't regulates commerce in several ways. Some people say they should keep their grubby little paws out of the markets. Others say that we need more regulation. (environmental, financial, etc.)
Question 10: What role do you think the Federal Gov't should play in the economy? (local, regional, national)

Just national and interstate. The Commerce Clause has been vastly overapplied. Environment and finance are national realms. I would like to see an end to many interstate commerce strictures, like health insurance. I believe they took care of the banking thing a while ago. I would prefer that the federal government forbid state regulations than require them. I would also get rid of the federal Department of Education. Those pinheads have caused more damage than can be measured

Only a few days left, and i'm going to make this the final question. walls of text are appropriate under such circumstances i would imagine.
Question 11: What sets you apart from any other candidate for POTUS? I don't just mean Shroomery Party candidates, but ALL candidates. As an example, why would you be a better choice than Trump? Or Hillary? Or Vermin Supreme?
