ID request (pretty please)

Hey there, fellow fungi enthusiasts. I'm new to the boards and of course my first post is an ID request. I found these guys in a wood chip mulch pile beneath an oak tree in my neighborhood (near Houston, TX). I'm hoping these are a gymnopilus variety or something equally interesting. Any ideas?

I'm pretty confident that these are a Gymnopilus species.

Thanks for the I.D. I'm totally green. Could you explain your reasoning a bit for my future use? What characteristics make you so confident? Also, any idea what species of gymnopilus?

To embed pics just copy and paste the link under the photo onto your post. Gyms because of the cap color and texture and the spore prints are a dead giveaway. They probably have a unique scent.

OK. I'll try again. I went back to the same spot today and picked a few more. There were also a few large mushrooms that looked like oysters. What do you think? Any opinions on whether these likely gyms are active?

So after looking back through the examples of gymnopilus species, I think the mushrooms above look nearly identical to some of these images of G. Aeruginosus. http://www.shroomery.org/12463/Gymnopilus-aeruginosus
For comparison, these again are mine.

Anyone else want to confirm before I get too excited? And can anyone suggest a dosage?

They don't look any Gymnopilus aeruginosus I've ever seen...

Maybe the west coast ones look completely different, I doubt they are the same species.

I'd call those Gymnopilus luteoviridis, or something very similar. Needs microscopy to be sure.

Ahhh I can't wait till gymno season comes around here. My spots yield grocery bags full each season of luteos

That's why I'm here. Thanks for the correction. In your opinion, are these worth ingesting or is there a chance they could be something different all together that would yield a less than desirable result?
