What do you expect if you don't go? Words can only do so much? Watch the youtube videos and you'll get a feel of snipets there, but it's a whole urban experience with everything you'd expect, oh and there are hundreds of bars across the city with free liquor till it runs dry.

Drinking hard alcohol in the desert, what could possibly go wrong?

I guess it might be for some, but I have zero desire to ever go. I just don't have anything in common with those peeps

Glad to see some fellow shroomeries know about and have been to burning man and understand that awesome feeling. I hope we meet out there one day.

Playa foot is the real deal. And I have also seen people come back with some super crazy stuff on their feet. So I took the bold look over the risk.

I Drove from Florida to Nevada and back and camped on the way too burning man on top of burning man self. I am young yes in my early 20s but it's all about the experience. If you need to have a bunch of stuff to go to burning man you probably wouldn't like it. Its hot, your gonna be uncomfortable, art cars blaring techno down the street all day and night. It's a lot to deal with all at once. You really have to want to go and be there.

Like I and others have said its a Social Experiment. It's a city purely driven on a gift economy. There are so many weird and incredibly amazing things going on. From erection contests to computer programming. Its out there and its free lol. As much food and alcohol and people you want to meet. Its like no place you have ever been. Its home.

Here is a picture of the man and how big he was last year. It was the tallest year. 105' tall. While I did not take this picture, this picture is exactly how I remember it myself and why I love it and feel as if i took it myself. It's weird. (Don't know if anyone has had that with a picture before)

If Burning Man sounds sucky to you, then don't go! :-) It's plenty crowded already.

Yeah, I walked the first couple days with tevas and got cracks between my toes. Don't know if its alkalinity, dryness, or both. Some people do seem immune, but I don't think that makes it a myth.

If I go to a festival it'll be Shambhala again, and I only barely enjoyed that. Creature of comfort I guess.

This and the fucking heat. I was born and raised in Alaska i don't do that kind of heat very well at all. I'd rather it be -30 than 100+

Didn't read the thread, but Burning Man is the most magical experience ever... Certainly in my life to date, minus the birth of my daughter.

It's something that can't be explained via text or video. You have to be immersed in it to understand and even then, it's hard to even grasp it all.
