What do you think of Burning Man as a whole?
Would you ever go? Or known someone that has?
I went last year. Wish I was going again this year but I am not. Next year though. I will make my return.

I'd go under these following conditions: A HUGE RV camper complete with all the luxuries (shower, fridge, batteries, wifi, etc), enough friends to have someone at the camper at least most times, a really nice bike, 2 grand for emergency money, and tons of time to relax afterwards. Otherwise that experience just doesn't look appealing to me anymore. I prolly would have done it with just the shirt on my back when I was 21, but at 31 that's not what I'm about anymore. I like being home with my wife and cats.

Burning Man seems really fucking awesome. I was just in Nevada last week and wish I would have not gone until around next week or so when burning man was happening, that is of course if I had a ticket.
I think BM is really sweet, I'm really hoping on going with my girlfriend or my friends there in maybe 2 years when we have enough money and more time to take such a trip like that. Definitively have to stock up on shrooms, acid, mescaline and DMT and all that. There is no way you can go to burning man and not trip while there.

I wanted to go this year, but I just made a big out of state move, so I can't really fit in my budget. NEXT YEAR...

There are regional burn communities. Lakesoffire.org is the great lakes regional. They do a smaller 3 day event every year in rothbury michigan under the same principles of burning man. Volunteers build a huge wooden structure (different every year) which becomes a giant bonfire on the third day. Pretty awesome and the people there are all about having a good time.

It's gotten a little too blown up for my taste I think. I would have gone years ago (but never did). I generally prefer smaller gatherings and festivals.

i've been wanting to go seriously for a couple years, if everything goes steady at least i should be going in two years. i just can't commit to something that requires so much preparation a year in advance right now..

This. When you get older you find yourself appreciating comfort more and more. I haven't slept on the ground since my mid-forties and I'm never doing it again

Looks dusty as hell, and not a tree in sight. I gotta have my trees, or at least mountains... like talk about the most boring landscape ever. If I go to a festival it'll be Shambhala again, and I only barely enjoyed that. Creature of comfort I guess.

Sometimes I think they just hype stuff like that up to scare people off

Yeah there's pictures floating around of all the little nasties, leaving rashes and such. And loads of stinkbugs. Looks unpleasant

yea what are bug problems supposed to mean, i'm pretty sure mosquitos need water are to thrive. any other bugs are easy to deal with with camping gear.
there are stink bugs all around where i live, they don't bother me. i've never even noticed any smell from them, couldn't even tell you what they smell like.

LOL same; I always here people talking about the horrendous smell of stink bugs, and I've been around/killed dozens of them and have yet to smell them

My mining partner drug me off of Mt White Colorado where we're digging aquamarine to go again this year. I fought it the whole way back to Oregon. I'll have fun though once it gets going. We leave to help set up camp tomorrow.
