I have a friend who has made thousands of dollars betting on the Blackhawks, but whoever he is going through in Vegas takes their time paying. Sometimes 6 weeks.

Technically, online betting on sports is not legal, but they usually don't prevent it. For a awhile, they were going after the credit card companies for facilitating the transactions, but not the betters themselves.

Recent initiatives in Congress have moved toward full legalization because it can bring in major tax revenues, but the whole thing is a legal grey area right now.

Ya i wazs making some serious side cash playing poker online and all of a sudden it was illegal. I started playing as a minor and had my mom on the thing and I'd bust her off 20%. The cost to do business.

I would consistently play 12 tables at a time and at that point it's all statistics.

But ya it was a bummer i dont get why the US gives a single fuck about it. A lot like the online sports betting.

Was making so much money when my other option was playing statecraft. I go to the local bar here and put 100 dollars in. Make all my cash plus interest. Throw the dealer a 50$. And pay for all my drinks. My ass stumble steps home. A lot of them are older people that just gamble. I spent a lot of time learning the statistics. Value.

That's what i do payday Friday every 2 weeks. Sucks its illegal online

They got a lot of weird rules. Fantasy leagues, I believe have been legalized because it's more skill than luck. Sportsbetting is skill but with the points spread it's more more luck unless you're really good at it. Casino gambling is mostly technically illegal except there are games that are more skill like blackjack.

The legal system has not worked this out. I'm waiting for the other 49 states to say why is only Vegas and overseas getting the benefits of Sportsbooks? States Rights?

scuse the necroposting but this caught my eyes. it is very weird how betting is mostly illegal there (you forgot the native american places?). in the uk it is pretty much obligatory to have several bookies in the most deprived poorest areas, and then another bunch on every high street. gambling machines in every pub and service stations. there's a good number of free tv stations showing it nightly where you can phone in bets. i think sky even have a whole channel just about betting. and the national lotteries - it's kind of like that film, what was it called - 'the island'? i think. millions living in hope that one day....one day i'll win the lottery and be free!

I very rarely bet but I have never had a problem finding a bookie and they are at leats as fair as the casinos.  If you win you get your bet.  If you lose you pay 10% extra vig.  You only have to be right about 53% of the time.

i don't play it cause i know i'd just lose all my money, or i'd put on numbers and then change them next week - and the ones i picked last week would win instead. i played it a couple of times for family members when it started (won 4 grand for one of them), and one time for someone else years later - and i swear they asked me to pick the numbers, and i changed them at the last minute. and the ones i changed them away from won. i often wonder what my life would have been like, had we both won that money.

There are some pretty good online betting websites. One in particular has 2 free payouts a month to get your winnings and they'll pay via check or western union. They have Sports, UFC, Poker, and other games to play. My old roommate won 3 grand in an online poker tournament that was only a 15 dollar buy in. He didn't even win the tournament but made the final table.

I made 400$ when I went to Vegas on my 21st. I didn't even want to go. I play blackjack or poker. I understand those odds. I've spent a ton of time studying it. I used to play poker all the time. Before they banned it. I had my mom set up the account. I payed her the cost to do business. 10%. I was 11.

14 tables its literally all Statistics.

I think Craps is actually the best odds but it takes time to fully understand the right moves to make.

Roulette I have a knack for. I just get feeling. Black or red. Never lost. Which doesn't require me to do statistcs. I didn't graduate to do math. I did go all the way to calculus though.

Yeah, I've heard this as well.  Except for blackjack if you count.  A friend gave me a book on it once and it was pretty interesting.  You can cut down the house edge pretty close but I still contend that betting sports with bookies who take a 10% vig on losers is the best way to go.  You only have to be right 53% of the time.  That's not that hard.
