Need help identifying
    #22132633 - 08/23/15 08:08 PM (8 years, 5 months ago)

Today some friends and myself were out in a forest in ny state and came across some mushrooms in the ground, and each time we come across mushrooms we haven't seen before we research it to see if it can be psilocybin. The state I am in is South Dakota. The mushrooms were in a very early stage, but they were white while some had a very slight color change (slightly yellow). The stems were white and almost looked clear, but that could be due to the immature stage. My friend is saving prints and going to see if they turn out to be psilocybin, but I wanted to come here for more information. They were found near a tree in areas where sunlight was hitting (most). Here are some pictures I could get (they aren't very good sorry).http://

Are you 100% sure? You're killing my hopes. Any chance they could be Psilocybe semilanceata? They look very similar.

Your photos are overexposed and fuzzy making it hard to see the details but I can tell you they are 100% not active.

I believe the are Coprinellus disseminatus group. Compare to photos online and I think you'll agree with me.
