Can I get cuttings from these San Pedro Cacti?

So I picked these 2 cacti up from Home Depot a few months ago and I'd like to know if I can get cuttings from these to replant. Not sure if they're big enough yet but the one on the right is about 13 inches and the one on the left is about 14-15 inches.

Thanks for your time

of course, take a good 8-10 inch cutting, and let it callous for 3 weeks.

3 weeks seems like a long time, also would it be best to lay it on the side or plant it standing up?

leave it standing up in a pot. I use dry soil, but you can do it without

Those look like PC pedros. Probably not worth a lot of effort honestly.

It's Trichocereus pachanoi, but the particular landscaping clone that is most commonly distributed is commonly referred to as "PC" or predominant cultivar. It is known for not having a very strong alkaloid profile. Still a beautiful cactus though.

So the mescaline content will be very low? I bought seeds a while ago and I now have 13 seedlings that sprouted 4 months ago, should I just graft those or what would be best to do?

Yeah you'd probably have better chances of getting potent cacti that way. Best is to get cuttings of a known to be active clone. What part of Cali are you in?

I was in search for an active cacti for a while and thought I finally came across one, however it doesn't seem like it now. Not sure where I can get cuttings. I'm in the High Desert (lower part of California)

Well if you ever come towards Orange county I could hook you up with some nice cuttings to grow. Or you can order some bridgesii. I was just out in the desert a couple weeks ago. Went out to Anza Borrego to watch the Perseid meteor showers. Such clear dark skies out there!

Take your cuttings. Root them. Pup the stump. In a year, you will have a nice garden.

I guess that while PC pedros are known for being weak, they still have enought mescaline. Even assuming they have half the alcaloids concentration of a good clone, they would still do the trick if you do eat/prepare a bigger cutting.

Walmart Home Depot and other cuttings of sp in SoCal may be weak but they do get the job done 1 foot to 2 feet is good I feel they are just weak due to the age. Idk someone enlighten me is it possible to isolate extremely high alkaloid varieties

Of course there is a way. And by now there are a lot of known potent clones. Ever heard of SS01 SS02? those are not Super Sayan Levels.
Basically is possible to do it even on small scale. If you do have for example 10 seed grown different trichs, that have different genetics too (not same seed batch), it's likely that some are more potent than others. To spot wich one is the most potent could be the tricky part, since extraction or ingestion is required, but discovered the potent one all you have to do is to clone and propagate that one.
Anyhow, Pachs and Perus may have the poorest concentrationts, or the highest ones. Bridgesii instead seems to be the most reliable one, not having that big difference in individuals, and providing stable mid-high concentrations (compared to other trichs)
