DAMN MYC GNATS!

How the hell do I get rid of these little fuckers? Legit sll 4 trays of mine at the moment are infested. Right when I start misting, you can see like 100 of them pop up to the surface and crawl around my trays. I hate these little fucks.
I tried putting a tall glass with some apple cider vinegar with a couple drops of dishwashing soap next to my trays...but I am yet to catch a single gnat.
What would you do?

get rid of everything that is food to them. fruit, empty beer cans etc. your trays too. I've fought a LOT of gnats in my life, only thing that makes them all go away is taking their food.
you can vacuum them and set the vacuumer outside, they find their way out of it if you just leave it inside.
that's a new one cron! maybe give them some beer while your trays are finishing up?

how long will I need to leave my grow room empty until I can start up again?

It used to only be one or two for me but recently they've really taken off. I'm going to try the yellow sticky insect tape they use in greenhouses and farms to control flies.

Those worked really well in my kitchen at first but now all the gnats are above my sink and don't fly near the strip anymore

Then move the strip. They don't work if you don't put them where they are. And do your dishes.

This. And from now on, keep your house cleaner. I've only ever had gnats of any type when I get lazy about cleaning. And I used to be super lazy about it. Now I can't stand a dirty house.

I use ortho vegetable bug killer. Works great and doesn't seem to hurt the mycelium.

You could set up a strategically placed fan to keep them away.

No you couldn't. That's retarded. A fan big enough to keep gnats away would dry out your sub and cost a shitload to run.

I've had really good success with these. Apple cider vinegar is a joke for gnats.

The gnats will avoid the air current or move along with it. It doesn't need to be able blow them away and it doesn't need to be inside the room where it's drying out the substrate to deter them from reentering the room.

You can make those way cheaper with yellow duct tape and tanglefoot (the kind that comes in a rubber cement bottle).

$5. A bottle of tanglefoot is $13. I mean unless you have one hell of a gnat problem...

My cakes have them bad. But honestly I have only 2 cakes on flush 4 so I think I might just dump them and hang a couple fly strips around to save my 3 tubs. I need to move the SGFC anyways to make room for a fourth tub.

I'm pretty sure I paid like $8, but I have had my bottle for years. There are like 7 traps in a bag, you could literally make hundreds for a few dollars more. Fungus gnats come back every year when it gets warm, and I also have lots of houseplants too.
Don't use BTI on your mushroom substrate, its a bacteria/bacterial toxin mix... it works great in plant soil.

Has anyone ever tried nematodes?
