a dirth of fungus
    #22130421 - 08/23/15 11:08 AM (8 years, 5 months ago)

i just want to complain that its too dry.

only thing popping in NEO is sucking the life out of something else

this was pretty impressive.  i think xsketch got a pic of it last year, it was smaller.  doesn't bode well for the beech!

i'm thinking maybe Climacodon septentrionalis but haven't given it a lot of time. if someone knows better please correct me.

believe this to be Laetiporus cincinnatus since its at the base of a live tree.  that will be cooked tonight!

its so dry the slugs and bugs don't even have a chance to get to what did pop after the last rain.

is this sassafrass?

blue cohosh eh!?!  now, that IS cool.  not that i have cramps at the moment

thanks tons for that ID

there was quite the patch of them with berries, so i brought home a  dozen without guilt cuz i really wanted to know what they were.  i should be able to find a spot out back n see what happens.  guess i'll have to google whether the seeds need to be stratified or whatnot like sang

how's FL treatin' you Kactus?

Yeah, they say there is medicinal value in that plant, and that it's an herb.
Florida is treating me decent, but I didn't expect to not have any mushroom hunting grounds though:sad:
