Looks rough. Always a good selling point. Did you rinse it off some or just straight.

I just added it straight to the pot. They were brand new pots though that broke when my shelf fell over a couple months ago. Do you think I should have rinsed it off first?
I haven't watered them yet so if you think I should rinse them I will before I water them. Also how often do you think I should water them especially since the clay has a tendency to dry out so quickly?

You don't have to rinse it off really and since you didn't add anything high pH It's just to gwt off all that dust.

My Loph just formed two nice flowers
Will both have seed pods if I polinate them right?
I just wiggle my finger inside the flower, right?

There was a bit of dust from breaking them up like I did. Also I added the smaller pieces "a bit dusty as well" just around the lophs to hold them firmer down in the clay. Was this a bad idea?

A small bit probably won't matter so much if it was only at the top. It will disperse through the pot with each watering. It is more if there is so much it will fill any gaps and clog things up. For its first watering you could give it a good flush and see if you are getting cloudy runoff that then clears up?

Thanks ferrel
Now I await some rain for them to have their first water. It refused to do so today, just teasing a few spots.
The larger pot is now complete, the biggest button has made its way home.

I keep my oldest loph in plain moler. It always slips my mind to have a look to see how the roots are doing, simply for curiosities sake. With moler it is a very simple unpot/repot but I don't want to disturb it now it is awake.

Joined the stone age today ! Repotted these babies in a full mineral mix made of sand, lava rocks and vermiculite. They are between 3 and 4 months old. Don't know exactly but they look cute Some of them already had a thick root.

Hope they won't suffer from transplanting too much. And hope the soil will make them happy.

The first cactus was growing in the ground with the native sandy soil; the following cacti were growing on a large rock with some sand near the base(possibly weathered rock).

I went ahead and planted a 6 month baby into a mix of limestone, quartzite calcite, granite and perlite. All the stone was gathered in West Texas. I broke it up into manageable pieces from small pebbles and granules to small boulders. Potted up in a 3 and a half inch terracotta pot. No water yet.

I made the move and repotted 3 roughly 1 year old lophophora seedlings into my first mix, sourcing things was a touch difficult, so I improvised on a bit of it, I`ll see how it goes and hope for the best. Its really rainy here for a few more days so everything is inside in the window, Ill withhold water for about two weeks and see what happens. my mix is roughly,
sharp sand, limestone ships, a touch of perlite, marble chips, and potting grit, and red lava rock in the bottom,
