People who have never come back from trips?

Anyone got any good stories of people who have never come back from tripping? Or got any good links? Do you believe this can happen? I understand you can see the world different and the truth of it, but I have heard of people not being able to now walk, without their arm being in the air after not coming back from a trip, for some strange reason I do not know... How much of this is true?

It's all scare tactics that have been used for the past 50 years to demonize psychedelic drug use within the general population. I'm sure you have heard of the story of a guy that took LSD, had a bad trip, and now thinks he is a glass of orange juice It's all made up stories. But, that's not to say that taking these substances won't reveal latent mental issues/ psychosis. Tripping will only show what is behind the scenes of your mind (subconscious), but won't give you long term psychosis. If you were predisposed to mental illness to begin with, but didn't show any signs, it will come to the surface sooner rather than later.

if someone doesnt come back form a trip i think it means they died while they were tripping, i mean i kn ow thats the only way id never come down from a trip. you need to remember, no matter how hard your frying, YOU WILL COME DOWN EVENTUALLY.
-------------------- its that bitter-sweet-sour, electric-smooth-twang. everything you ever have, are. or will feel along with every emotion, joy, hate, love, fear or aspiration burning down your nerves and into the fabric of your place in this existence at ten thousand degrees above and below zero will you find yourself wondering if you've been dead or alive this whole time. being born over and over only to die over and over hoping the wheel stops in the same place it started when you spun it, and when it finally does and you can step back and take a nice deep breath you realize how beautiful life is, remember, wake up to the most beautiful day of your life every single day, its just the way.

I have NEVER heard the story about the guy who now thinks he is a glass of orange, but I always tell people the story of a friend of mine who thought she was a glass of orange juice while tripping on mushrooms, thankfully she returned though, haha! Pretty strange though, thought I was the only one with that story! There's a YouTube vid about that Colombian devil dust drug, (forgot the propa name (the drug the criminals use to get your bank details willingly from you) ) the guy in the vid said his friend took one of the seeds from this plant, now after tripping off it he always looks from behind his hand, like holds his hand infront of his face and appears over the top of it! The check it out, think it's a vice documentary.

Op, I think you'd come back no matter what. How it changed you might be a different story, but you'll come back.

Yes, that's the drug! It's scary how a person can abuse that drug for their own gratification, but I believe it can be used wisely for child birth and illnesses, like the ancients did!
Yeah I'm not worried! I have kinda never come back from a few trips, lol, see the world different now, but not in a scary crazy way. Bet not one person knows of anyone personally, who has never come back from a trip!

If you were able to get "stuck" in a trip, then I would've gotten "stuck" when I had my first bad trip. I just got fucked up. Like even Syd Barrett gardened and lived on his own and went to the grocery store the rest of his life after taking acid multiple times every day for months on end. And he had underlying mental illness too I believe truly.

Who is Sid Barrett? And what does him gardening and gong to the super market have to do with not coming back from a trip?... Was he that guy who invented xtc and lived in someone's basement?

He was one of the founding members of Pink Floyd. And yea, I've read that he had schizophrenia, it was just undiagnosed. When he abused acid, that's what really pushed him over the edge.

Yeah they tried to tell me I had schizophrenia as well, and weed and mushrooms took me over the edge. I just saw a different truth to them that they didn't understand and they don't want people to understand. What you need is a good loving environment and not people who tell you your not normal. My friend was seeing and understanding the same things as well and wasn't forced by his family to get help and he never understood why I let them try tell me I was mentally ill. Everything we both saw and believed we both could talk about and understand. Would be different if it made no sense to anyone but we could both see it.... It's amazing how much the world around you can change and you didn't know was there or could ever be there!

"Never coming back from a trip" is an urban myth, but there are some stories of people who's trip has basically transitioned into a psychotic episode.....so the trip ends but the madness continues for several days, or perhaps the psychotic episode becomes the start of a longer period of mental illness in some rare cases.
This is a good story: LSD psychosis aftermath "my multiple day descent into madness"
Another case of someone tripping and not quite making it back down to reality when they should have done: Help a Desperate Mom
And there's dwpineal's epic story My LSD trip that lasted 8 months which is a good read.
This is a post I made in a similar thread to this one, also has some links: Bad trip and not coming back
And finally there's an interesting thread here - So I just got out of the psyche ward, the story is spread across several different posts but it starts off intriguingly with the statement "As some of you know I tripped on some LSD and Mescaline about a month ago and basically didn't come down".
Hopefully some of those threads will interest you....

Scopolamine is used in standard medicine all the time, in patches for severe sea sickness even
It can be scary when used in nefarious ways

Then there's still medication of course which will help treat psychosis greatly.

Wow, I did not know that! If that vice documentary was any good, it would of mentioned that! Apparently, to them, it's the Devils drug and should never be touched. Where did you get this info from please?

I think it is used in some heart medications as well.
It's all about the dose administered, although i have heard some seriously crazy reports from datura ingestion. That shit is truly crazy.

Just do some research on it, check drugs.com maybe wikipedia etc Im sure its dose related, I think it just takes a few seeds to cause hallucinations, maybe the medical dose is in micrograms or something

my friends dad said he nearly didnt come back, and just the look on his face made us realize how deep he would of gone.... it was a really concerning look lol..
There are plenty of people who have taken it over board and ended up in mental hospitals/dead and had strokes..
