Can anyone identify this magic (voodoo) for me?
    #22129990 - 08/23/15 08:49 AM (8 years, 5 months ago)

Last night a friend of mine found a lock of my long time girlfriend's hair hidden in his wallet and we're pretty sure it's a form of voodoo. God, if you're up there..... HELP!!!

It'll make more (less) sense of I supply a short background history:

I actually "stole" my girlfriend (T) from my buddy (J) last November. Tonya and I fell in love and J actually got over it pretty quick but that's another story. We're all friends to this day and it's all good in the neighborhood.

My mother (S) is certifiably crazy, dislikes T, and has shown occasional interest in voodoo for at least 10 years, and would definitely do some weird shit like this.

J found the lock of hair last night and has no idea how or why it was in his wallet out how long it has been there - he thought it was funny. The hair is held together by some green electric tape which I specifically recognize because I loaned some exact tape to my mother about 2 months ago, so there's the time frame.

Could this be some form of spell or voodoo magic or something to I dunno.... Control or return an ex-lover out something of that nature? I mean what's up with this? I have the lock of hair... I might confront her about it later. I just don't want to invoke some more powerful sorcery or anything like that....

I'm a little creeped out. Can anyone offer some insight please?

I dont know about Voodoo, but as far as I can tell, whatever form of "magic" it is, whether it is voodoo or some gypsy stuff etc. This shit will work only if you allow it to. By this I mean, dont let this bother you. Realize that you are stronger that this simple petty tricks... do what you feel is best to resolve this issue, and go on with your life.
These things work only if you let them drill a hole in you and if you give them power to do so.

I hope this makes sense?

Probably he just wanted a lock of her hair to remember her by or remove some DNA from the hair to create another girl like her in some laboratory.

I’ve come across some locks of hair from my great-great grandmother that were in a scrapbook of my grandmothers (and actually from several of my grandmother’s friends from the 1920s/30s). This sharing of hair apparently was a ‘thing’ back then. Anyways — is there a benefit for having ancestors’ hair tested for DNA analyses? I am still very new to genealogy in general and even more green at the ins and outs of DNA.

It’s absolutely possible to get DNA from a sample of hair. Scientists have used hair from ancient and aboriginal remains1 and even from a woolly mammoth2 to obtain DNA for testing. But that doesn’t mean you should go ahead and test that lock of hair from your great-great grandmother, because hair poses some problems in terms of what DNA you can get.    http://legalgenealogist.com/blog/2012/06/03/dna-and-the-locks-of-hair/

Yea, it can be as simple as that. But given the evidence, OP's mother somehow planted a lock of hair of his girlfriend in his friends wallet. Now when I look at it like this. IT seems like some bad Turkish soap drama.. no offense Dreaming Nomad.
