Found these guys last on a short hike last weekend. I found others, but I'm still working on ID'ing those. Here are some that I think I've positively ID'd unless someone wants to correct it:

Geastrum fimbriatum - Earth Star

Ramariopsis kunzei - White Coral Mushroom

Strobilomyces confusus - Old Man of the Woods

Leotia lubrica - Jelly Babies

I believe the coral is Clavicorona pyxidata
I found a jelly baby too recently glad to find the id; they remind me of those sticky hands you get from the quarter machines at a grocery store!
Hard to tell if that's a floccopus when it's so wet and small but it looks like a baby old man. If it's saprotrophic then it's probably not old man, hard to tell from pic if it's growing from the tree or not. You should let it grow though, that's my fav. mushroom.

Try chewing a bit of the coral and it should turn spicy with no flavor after about 10-20 seconds. Its pretty cool to feel heat without flavor.

The gummy hand comparison to the jelly babies is spot on.
We tried eating a small piece of the coral mushroom but it was flavorless. I didn't get any sensation of heat.

It takes an extended period of chewing to activate the chemical. I might be wrong with pyxidata but that's what we have in minnesota it grows from wood and has the little crowns and is often yellowish with white especially on the crowns.

I find the explanation of "spicy" is more-like "radishy" to me. Don't know if you eat any radishes...
Then again... I was a pack-a-day smoker a month ago so my taste buds could be different.
The picture isn't good enough for us to confirm "old man of the woods" It could be or it couldn't be... if its got gills its an amanita most likely...
also "old man of the woods" is Strobilomyces strobilaceus, also called Strobilomyces floccopus.
you have stated S. confusus which is a look-a-like. Either way I don't think there's a way to tell for sure without spore microscopy...
Still looks like a productive day. Hope you find what you're looking for. Good luck!
