Wanted to get an opinion from the pros. Its been ten days of colonization to coir/verm/gypsum. Time to fruit? Thanks in advance for your insight.

I still see some uncolonized sections of coir. Wait until full colonization before fruiting, you'll get better pinsets.

I am currently running cases and uncased as I wanted to see the difference for myself. Bigger pinset, larger fruits is what I found. I will never not case again.
I think one of the observable differences to me is it was easier to get a more even surface with the 1/4" casing than with the sub as a whole- thusly providing a surface which was easier to knot and then pin on en masse. It's actually looking like I'm even going to get a better pinset for the second flush.

Thanks! Im very tempted to put it into fruiting, but I'm doing my best to make sure its 100%. There is still a small patch that is being stubborn. So far its been 12 days colonizing.

Im not experienced enough yet to give any solid advice.
But if it were my tub, I'd give it a few more days and see what happens. From the pictures it looks like there might be some slight progression...
That myc network looks so gnarly! I cant wait to see that bad boy fruit.

I use straw but I always wait for full colonization and then give it a few more days after that before fruiting.

That mycelium looks like it's reaching up to escape the high CO2 environment. After 14 days, the sub should be completely colonized inside. I say fruit now, and give it plenty of FAE. Keep those top holes a little loose and the bottom ones stuffed tightly.

Dial them in until they are fitted but still have some resistance to them. The top holes need to be a lot looser. Look up frank's how to dial in a monotub tek. And that fan is too close, you don't want it directly pointing at the tub either. That's a quick way to dry out the surface. Some TC's don't even use fans for their monos. As long as it isn't in a closet, there should be enough air currents in the room to supply enough FAE. However, I like to run a small air purifier in the same room as my mono. I keep it on the lowest setting and pointed away from the tub.

Here are some new pics.
These two pics are the Doc t style hybrid tub which is coming along nicely.

The monotub in original post has been fruiting for 3 days and although there are no pins of b+, there seems to be something else in there. It can be seen pictured in the middle of the polyfill in the back left.

Here are some updates.
This is the monotub which has been in fruiting for 6 days. Also included is a close up of my first pin.

Pin.

Here is an update on the Doc T mini hybrid. Real pain in the ass to keep the surface moist. Not sure if ill do another tub like this. Fruiting for 3 days now with no signs of pinning. This pic was after I misted the hell out of it.

I actually just flattened them more. They were already hanging out quite a bit. I also turned up the fan a bit. I wasnt using a fan because of the central air in the house and the constant drying of the other tub. I might just have to put that other tub in another room.

How many times a day is normal for misting a small hybrid tub? I feel like im having to mist 4-6 times a day to keep the surface moist with water globes etc.

Doc T's design is actually pretty bad in terms of moisture retention, 4-6 times a day is pretty normal with that design. I would just rock this one out but the next time you do this just put the tray in an SGFC or mono. Continue to mist every time you see the surface is dry.

Thanks for the reply. Thought I was going crazy. Im thinking ill do a Pasty mini or like you said a sgfc. I have 8 colonized jars ready to go. Figured I would do 4 tin trays 2 quarts a piece. Gonna need a large sgfc to hold all 4 trays.

Pastys minis are great, I only run minis but not pastys design. I suggest casing them your first go around just so you don't have to worry too much about FAE until you get it dialed in. Minis can be finicky in dry environments but pasty has a really dry house RH I believe and he pulls killer tubs.
Use the small end of the cheese grater and I suggest dunking them for 24 hrs but they don't need to be dunked.

My jars are actually WBS that I had prepped and colonized via GTG. Im in florida so I dont know why its drying out so much. How do you drill your holes in the tubs you use? You have a link to the tek?

I usually heat up an empty tomato paste can on the stove to burn holes in my monotubs. The diameter is roughly 2 inches, which is a bit big, but you can tape it up on the sides a bit( you want around 1.25 inches) before stuffing with poly.
Or, you can get a holesaw attachment for a drill and cut through the plastic with that. Whatever floats your boat.

Just spawned 2 aluminum trays. Decided to make a sgfc to fruit them. Although I would love to use the clear lids that came with the baking tray. Dont think it will be tall enough though.

Whats up.

I noticed the walls and lid of the tub dont have any condensation on them. Should I tighten the top holes more?

A lot of pins! I think they might end up on the smaller side. The larger ones look like the veil will break really soon and they are only about 2 inches. I could be wrong though.

Here's my first few shrooms. Although I'm excited to have some fruits I have to say their size is a bit disappointing. They are only about 2 inchs and the veil broke. It appears that will be par for the course in this tub. Maybe the second flush will yield bigger fruits?

Im gonna have the smallest harvest of all time. There is not a single shroom bigger than 2 inches! Moisture content seems fine and its getting plenty of FAE. Guess this is genetics. Gonna have to eat 100 shrooms for a beginner dose.

I would say a couple of those dried up completely would be a solid eighth.

I think im at about 2.8 grams dried currently. Theyre all going into the dehydrator at different times. Thing will be running for days.

Well boys it happened. I got my first trich contam. This is on the Doc T style hybrid tub. Even though it has a good amount of pins with potential I decided to toss it. Kinda freaked me out to be honest. I came home from my shift and saw it. ;(

Over the course of a day and a half before I noticed. It was pinning very slowly and was constantly drying out. I think all the misting and fanning screwed it up. I should have seen it coming. In the meantime I've dried the first flush.

Theyre all very small but I have a HUGE mason jar full.

Honestly havent even weighed it yet. Will probably weigh after the second flush. I dont think I will get that dry ounce per jar quota.

Heres the second flush of the original tub. Again all pretty short but hey at least it flushed a second time after a dunk.

Here are two trays of the same B+ that were cased via Franks tek and placed in a sgfc.

And finally heres a bonus. Not quite the penis envy Im used to seeing on here.
