Here are some updates.
This is the monotub which has been in fruiting for 6 days. Also included is a close up of my first pin.

Pin.

Here is an update on the Doc T mini hybrid. Real pain in the ass to keep the surface moist. Not sure if ill do another tub like this. Fruiting for 3 days now with no signs of pinning. This pic was after I misted the hell out of it.

I think that top tub could use some looser top holes, it's almost too wet in there:

I actually just flattened them more. They were already hanging out quite a bit. I also turned up the fan a bit. I wasnt using a fan because of the central air in the house and the constant drying of the other tub. I might just have to put that other tub in another room.

How many times a day is normal for misting a small hybrid tub? I feel like im having to mist 4-6 times a day to keep the surface moist with water globes etc.

Doc T's design is actually pretty bad in terms of moisture retention, 4-6 times a day is pretty normal with that design. I would just rock this one out but the next time you do this just put the tray in an SGFC or mono. Continue to mist every time you see the surface is dry.

Thanks for the reply. Thought I was going crazy. Im thinking ill do a Pasty mini or like you said a sgfc. I have 8 colonized jars ready to go. Figured I would do 4 tin trays 2 quarts a piece. Gonna need a large sgfc to hold all 4 trays.

Pastys minis are great, I only run minis but not pastys design. I suggest casing them your first go around just so you don't have to worry too much about FAE until you get it dialed in. Minis can be finicky in dry environments but pasty has a really dry house RH I believe and he pulls killer tubs.
Use the small end of the cheese grater and I suggest dunking them for 24 hrs but they don't need to be dunked.

My jars are actually WBS that I had prepped and colonized via GTG. Im in florida so I dont know why its drying out so much. How do you drill your holes in the tubs you use? You have a link to the tek?

I usually heat up an empty tomato paste can on the stove to burn holes in my monotubs. The diameter is roughly 2 inches, which is a bit big, but you can tape it up on the sides a bit( you want around 1.25 inches) before stuffing with poly.
Or, you can get a holesaw attachment for a drill and cut through the plastic with that. Whatever floats your boat.

Just spawned 2 aluminum trays. Decided to make a sgfc to fruit them. Although I would love to use the clear lids that came with the baking tray. Dont think it will be tall enough though.

Whats up.

I noticed the walls and lid of the tub dont have any condensation on them. Should I tighten the top holes more?

Ok. Misted the walls a bit, just left the lid dry.

A lot of pins! I think they might end up on the smaller side. The larger ones look like the veil will break really soon and they are only about 2 inches. I could be wrong though.
