Crafting in General

I'm more of a crafter than drawing or painting, and I still don't have that much to show. But I really enjoy making things with polymer clay. Anyone else feel the same?

(Never listen who say you can use polyurethane for glazing on charms, because that little bit of yellow happens. BAH!!)

I made these Grumpy Cat beads a while ago. In high school, I used to make beads and necklaces for my friends. It was a lot of fun.

How did I not see this?! Awww I love grumpy cat!!

I like making crafts that eventually just become like... art meditation in a sense. You don't have to think too hard. With drawing and painting I overthink and overanalyze and then I scrape stuff or remake things. Too much pressure!!

I gotta say, I'm really impressed that you were able to make them so detailed and tiny! I love the tiny Kirby jar!

Oh my god the Kirbys. Only once!! Probably never again... well maybe Pikachus or other characters. I got so claustrophobic making them because I was curling myself into myself while painting. Hahaha
But thank you!!
Did you ever do those friendship bracelets? Those were always so killer for me.

Well, you might be the best person to ask, really...
I wanted to make Nyan Cat (NC) beads similar to the Grumpy Cat (GC) ones. The problem is that, if I made the NC ones the same way I made the GC ones, I would have the longest cane ever known. That GC brick turned into way too much cane for me to handle.
I used an extruder with the smallest square hole it came with.
You seem to be good at small things. What would Pachoo do?

They're perler beads right? I haven't ever used them but I'll look into it!! I once saw a nyan cat clay square that someone made that seemed to fit the kitty and the rainbow in. Lemme try to find it. I think it would still be bigger than the grumpy cat but perhaps there is a way!!!
One good thing too is that alot of people use the same recipes for stitching. Like the overviews. I'm so tired and at work right now I can't think of the name... haha

LOL! I totally get it about being tired at work. I come home and I'm like *FLOP*.
They're not actually perler beads. I was thinking of using Sculpey or Fimo. Whatever's on sale at the AC Moore.

The word was 'pattern'. Oh gosh now I feel super dumb. Hahah

Anywho, I couldn't find that video that I was looking for and now I'm thinking it never existed? I found some keychains of the perler beads that you could use with the canes and whatnot though.
Here's some etsy listings, not mine, but no tutorials.
Nyan Cat Perler Keychain
Nyan Cat Clay Charm
You should just give into the power of the clay and make charms!!! It really is super easy once you get the feel of it. I only buy Sculpey III tho because Fimo and Premo make me feel like I have arthritis. They are so hard to work with and that's why I stopped for a few years.
I'm going to start ordering them online from PolymerClaySuperstore. If you sign up for email stuff you can get a coupon for a free block of white clay I think.
