Make syringe from colonized jar?

I thought to inject water into colonized rye from a syringe. mix jar and then retake by syringe. Is this possible?
Seems simpler and safer for me then building glove box, for G2G.

If you are using a polyfill filter on your lid for gas exchange, then this can invite contams into the solution when you go to shake the jar. I've seen it done with SFD's successfully, but make sure to do it in an SAB like cronicr said.

I use Tyvek. I also have one hole covered with silicon, and I thought to inject the water through there. I was hoping to avoid building a glove box, but you say I will need to ?

In this video he uses a small 60 qt tub. Get 100+ qts. (Biggest clear tote you can find) you won't regret it.
Takes like less than 5 minutes to make. NO GLOVES. DON'T USE A GLOVE BOX. USE A STILL AIR BOX.

You could do it without the GB or SAB, but you're taking a bigger risk of contamination. I, however, do open-air inoculation and g2g transfers. But, after I cover the (already filtered) in my grow area, and Oust the air, the entire room is like a SAB in about 10 minutes. I have never had a single contaminated jar doing shit this way. I may, however, just be an extremely lucky son of a bitch. With that said, I do own a SAB.
But, it's so easy and cheap to build a SAB, why not just do it and save yourself a lot of trouble in the long run?

Open air g2ging.. oh jeez. And you only wait 10 minutes after spraying garbage spray?.. Generally in the air every inch has over 200,000 particles. On your skin every milimeter has 500000 particles. It takes a particle at 5 microns, 5 feet in the air 1 hour to reach the ground. I just don't see why you'd risk open air g2ging is all. Clean grains are extremely essential for success, and I've tossed pretty big projects because of stupid stuff like open air work.
Also if your room was truly still.. could you confidently say that after 6 months - a year.. left untouched exactly the way you would when working in... it would not be covered in dust? A still room wouldn't be covered in dust. It'd be exactly how you left it.

Are you saying that it can't or shouldn't be done if you are using poly fill as a filter? Your wording is funky

Well yeah. Plus it can be done very easily with polyfill. I prefer polyfill for my lc's. Sure it can get messy and loaded up with living mycelium buy at least I know it's doing it's job and filtering the air.
I have made mycelium syringes by filling a syringe with sterile water. Injecting it into a fully colonized grain jar. Then sucking as much liquid up at possible. A 30+cc syringe and a long needle are ideal.

Did you do it in a SAB?

Naw. It might help but no real need to. You leave the lid on the colonized jar. Work through the polyfill.
