fuck it, i'll actually make an effort to be very clear with you. it might take a while. but to cut to the chase i'm mostly going to be explaining by using examples that the points your are disproving are not the points i'm making and actually in some way we agree, irrelevantly.

this is why atheists are so much fun. they literally can't have a debate about God and it's existence/non-existence any other way than their own.
even if it's the same perspective as someone else's they still need to impose their own relative understanding of God/no-God, and yet still they claim it's not a belief (sometimes; which when so is even more fun).

this makes no sense, 3 negatives in one sentence. ill do my best to translate to english:
"You can "believe" in something that you cannot substantiate as fact."
obviously
Quote:
akira_akuma said: you can believe that there is no God, but that isn't the lack of a belief in God, it's a belief that there is no god.
correct. what i'm saying that you can not believe in god and that is a lack of belief
Quote:
akira_akuma said: the "lack of a belief" would be more akin to "i don't believe in Global Warming". you simply don't believe that Global Warming exists.
agree
Quote:
akira_akuma said: God however is a misnomer of immense proportion. you cannot believe in it, nor can you "not-believe" in it, just the same. it's the same inherent guess at the unknown, a guess which isn't factual or even around to be factualized or disproven. it's nothing, and you can't believe nor disbelieve in nothing or nothingness, as it is what it is, nothing. you literally have to believe in SOMETHING at these cross roads, because you are questioning the direct unknowingness of the direct opposite of 'something'. you can't know, hence you can't know what to to believe; you can only guess which one sounds more favorable to your perceptions on what to think about about the notion/idea of god.
this is insanely hard to comprehend. what i got is that you can't believe something that you can't know. then what is the point is believing? believing is what happens when you are sure of something that you can't actually know, if you actually know it then you know it. so this is not only a headache to read, but it simply (appears) to claim that believe and know are synonyms.

umm I never said scientists were incompetent.
im saying that scientists and everyone else for that matter have trouble with this stuff because of the theory that pfxtc linked

Yeah...
science is based on observation, and the interesting thing about the origins of the Universe is that it is (theorized) that it is impossible to observe!

exactly...because we 3d humans cant perceive something that is 4d in nature. so whenever anyone thinks they have something pinned down...nope! the earth shows its true nature and makes fools of us. a singularity will never be able to be defined. this is why science is flawed....we are living inside a singularity..

I saw one theory that a 4 dimensional star simply existed in some other multi/universe and supernova'd and thus the big bang occurred and our 3D space is inside of it's singularity.
That blew my mind. I think its exactly how all this came about. I have always thought something like that and never knew how to put it into words...so I must thank you. Just genius..
Thats fuckin INSANE! Trippy shit mannnn.

nah it makes perfect sense. and it isn't a double negative. see a non-belief is not a negative, but a positive. it's a NON-BELIEF, as in "i do not belief".
and the "cannot" function of the sentence are both the same, they are connected. plus no one ever said three negatives can't make a right.

if you do not believe in God, that is an uncertainty, meaning that you are still believing that you are presumed correct in not believing in God, which is a belief. in this case a "lack of belief" is more-so a belief than "not", because you can't know whether it's correct to "lack a belief".

there is no point in believing, not rationally.
belief and knowledge in this instance are antinomical.

the notion of God as a misnomer for the sky or some such shit, sure. the unknown...the end-all-be-all of conceptuality. sure. it's a neat little human invention.
