Synsepalum dulcificum with cactus?

Anyone tried this to mask the bitterness? Apparantly the 'miracle fruit' contains miraculin which lasts 30 minutes and kills your ability to taste bitter or sour.

i did red a bit right now, but couldn't find where it does kill the bitter, it just says sour.

Anyhow, that would totally nail the bad part of ingestion. but i dunno if it does go against the effects of mescaline

It's worth a try, but I'm not really sure. Wikipedia mentions people eating sour AND bitter foods to experience effects though, so maybe...

For a time in the 1970s, US dieters could purchase a pill form of miraculin.[15] This phenomenon has enjoyed some revival in food-tasting events, referred to as "flavor-tripping parties" by some.[16] The tasters consume sour and bitter foods, such as lemons, radishes, pickles, hot sauce, and beer, to experience the taste changes.

One day Alice came to a fork in the road and saw a Cheshire cat in a tree.
'Which road do I take?' she asked.
'Where do you want to go?' was his response.
'I don't know', Alice answered.
'Then', said the cat, 'it doesn't matter.'

Further searches on google reveal opposing opinions on its imteraction with bitter cactus. I would offer that this one persons opinion, while completely valid, may be subjective. I'm still going to buy a tree, they are a bit pricey though. ($45 for a 500cm tree)

Did you mean 50cm? 500 is like 15 feet or something isn't it? 45 for 50cm  isn't the worst price I've seen for them. I started some from seed this summer and they are coming along pretty well. I think they take like 3 years to start producing though...
