Last little bit of substrate taking forever to colonise
    #22125881 - 08/22/15 08:06 AM (8 years, 5 months ago)

Hi Everyone,

I currently have several jars of golden teachers that are nearly finished colonising, but I have one that has a tiny little bit that seems to be taking forever to colonise.  It has literally been like this for the past week and still hasn't finished.  Is this something I should be concerned about? Thanks

Odd jar shape! I bet it's not so easy to birth something shaped like that. When it's at 98-99% and it's taking forever I birth anyway with no problems whatsoever.

Thanks for that. There are no problems with these jars at all. The angle the photo is at probably makes them look different to what they are. Here is a better photo of the jars I am using:

Nice! That's jamup! I'd say go ahead with it, but if you wait two or three more days it will be fully colonized.

I had to buy 8 of those so I have jam 2 litres of jam sitting in my fridge at the moment. Yes, probably best to give it a few more days as I want to dunk and roll. I just hope it hurries up because it hasn't changed from that photo for nearly a week and mushrooms are starting to sprout at the top of the jar. Thanks for you help.
