okay.. constructing new fc from usual specs. 4inches damp perlite, fae holes all 6 sides in even grid ... always see cakes on the canning lid or just on square of foil but i have some metal racks usually used for cooling baked goods, they would sit inch and a half above perlite leaving entire cake exposed to fc enviorment instead of sitting on something...benifitial? or unnessasary? thanks much love ya*ll

It might help, but sometimes the best environment for pins seems to be that crevice between the foil and the cake.
It will probably work fine either way. Test it out, upload some pics and show us the results...

thats why i thought my rack idea would possibly be worth trying, the space between cake and foil from what ive seen and read is do to the concistant rh in the first inch of space above the perlite... with more fresh air being aloud to circulate and more of the cake exposed to that ideal enviorment should see better results.. im new to this but ive done my reasearch .... i'll definatly post few pics after few days and see what kinda pinset i'll get with using this rack and ones with a cake sitting on foil square birthed same time so see witch one works the best... i F***ing love science , much love guys/
