Le_Canard said: Well, with oil and natural gas tanking, the miracle in Texas will soon lose its luster.
Texas is the 12th largest economy in the world. And leads the united states in export revenues at close to 200 Billion dollars with the 6th largest port in the world as well as the best air cargo airport in the world. The largest industries besides oil are technology, biomedical, and defense. Its intellectually dishonest to say the only thing they have going for them is oil.
To be fair, he only said "lose its luster."
My BMWs paint lost its luster, but it's still a BMW.

It's working out decently for them. The liberal media spins it as disastrous but in reality it's doing ok, not great.

When the big economic collapse hits, we can quit worrying about the little stuff. Some say it has started already. Sell your stocks if you have any.

Decently to ok to not great in only two sentences.

Even with that, it'll still be a BMW
I was stuck with a BMW for about two weeks, and it was pure hell. Hopefully, that never happens again.

Yeah it's working out so decently that the state supreme court ruled that Brownback's tax cuts to public schools were so extreme that they violated the constitution.

If you wanna say Kansas is disputable, show me one other instance of economic growth, specifically for the middle and working class, in any state or nation that has enacted tax cuts like the ones in Kansas.
Austerity doesn't work. Tax cuts don't work. Deregulation doesn't work. Privatization doesn't work.
We hold these truths to be self evident.

So higher taxes are always better and 100% government control of every aspect of the economy is best? Are you sure there isn't some sort of middle ground?

Tax cuts are bad, doesn't meaning raising taxes is the answer.
Letting corporations regulate themselves is bad, doesn't mean government controlling every aspect of the economy is the answer.
Yes, unlike you, I think there's some middle ground.

I'm basing my opinion (that you see only black and white) on this comment:
Quote:

...in which you imply that not cutting taxes is the same as raising them, and that the existence of regulation and the public sector is akin to fascism.
