Durability of the Pereskiopsis

Just an interesting testament to this plants tenacity. I chopped this cutting at the begging of May. Not having enough pots and soil at the time, I just tossed it into the corner of my courtyard to be forgotten about. I found it today, and it's still kicking. No water, no soil, and barely any light (it was behind some equipment). I could pot it up right now and it would be happy, but I'm just going to see how long it takes until it completely withers away.

Yeah, the hairless variety can get pretty thick, that's for sure. I just realized that it was chopped sometime at the beginning of June, not May. That's still a pretty long time out of soil and unattended. This was the original plant-

I received fourteen shitty weak cuttings back in may. I turned them into 45 rooted plants. However they still seem stalled. I need them for grafting, so instead I have been grafting to blue myrtle.

That's awesome! I was just cleaning up the porch earlier and found a tiny peres cutting that was behind a bin and was doing the same thing! I rewarded it's survival instinct and threw it in some dirt though. It was only sitting on it's own for like a few weeks though.

They seem to do really well with a combination of healthy soil and a larger pot for lots of new root growth. I make my own soil using perlite/lava sand/coir/soil. Strong light helps, but too much light will cook them.
