Making things up in your head isn't probable cause.

Convince the courts.

In the meantime, talk to a lawyer. Do you really think that if you sue the cop won't make up some probable cause?

They literally have nothing to go on.

They even told me they needed a warrant to search, then did it anyways without a warrant.

They done fucked up

If this really happened, I'm pretty sure it's standard practice in most places for them to call back. This case (where they did call back and the call was unanswered) is somewhat similar though:

Quote:

The court of appeals stated

We hold that the combination of a 911 hang call, an unanswered return call, and an open door with no response from within the residence is sufficient to satisfy the exigency requirement. The district court was correct in finding that the police were justified in entering the home to sweep for a person in need of immediate assistance under the emergency aid exception. The whole point of the 911 system is to provide people in need of emergency assistance an expeditious way to request it.[ix]  [emphasis added]

It is important to note that the plaintiff in this case argued that the 9-1-1 hang-up call did not provide enough information to justify warrantless entry.  However, the Sixth Circuit responded to this argument by stating

9-1-1 hang-up calls do convey information. They do not convey certainties, but certainties are not required. 9-1-1 hang-ups inform the police that someone physically dialed 9-1-1, the dedicated emergency number, and either hung up or was disconnected before he or she could speak to the operator. An unanswered return call gives further information pointing to a probability, perhaps a high probability, that after the initial call was placed the caller or the phone has somehow been incapacitated. In some percentage of cases involving this set of facts, a person is in need of emergency assistance.

Idk zappa I got 4 felonies over turned by my state supreme court because an officer was called to my home for a welfare check on a previous tenant. When no one answered the door because no one was home he opened my door to make sure no one was dead and saw a bong. I was even so dumb to consent to a search after they told me they saw everything and I thought I was fucked. But the court ruled he had no right to open my door because it wasn't an emergency and all the evidence that was collected from the warrant they got based on what he saw was dismissed due to being tainted by the poisonous fruits of the illegal entry I think is how they worded it.

Now having sail all that I read the op and no other comments so if I missed something Iapologize.

I think they did, but they detained me so I couldn't be sure of what they were doing in there. I had some cupboard doors open that weren't open before they search

You got evidence in a criminal case thrown out.  You did not win damages.  It is a totally different thing.  He has no shot.

"detained" long enough for them to illegally search me and my home, but not officially arrested or charged with anything, no.

Maybe this is some weird kind of karma for being a douche at the supermarket to an overweight dude when you assumed his life was your business and intruded

Now you get intruded upon by douches, seems fair
