In BRF cakes/the PF tek, the verm barrier serves as the filter, you dont need tyvek.

As far as using tyvek when its needed, youre supposed to stick breathable tape over the holes after inoculation as tyvek is not self healing

I use micropore tape, the same i use for my petri dishes

If you watch RR's video about BRF jars, he uses micropore tape. BRF use the dry vermiculite layer as a contamination filter to prevent any bacteria or spores from getting in by keeping the moist substrate isolated by a dry non-nutritive layer.

Some people modify lids by adding a separate inoculation port and filter, so the filter is used solely for gas exchange and the inoculation is done with a self healing port.

Tyvek or SFD's are used for grain jars, usually for agar or grain-grain transfers.

So, yes... Tyvek is useless in the way you are thinking of using it.

But I'll bet you'll here from others why Tyvek is useless for any situation anyway...

Threads just end naturally.

Micropore tape is not needed. Leaves stick residue totally not worth it to me to ever use.

Thanks alot guys for the info:) im really excited as i JUST finished my inoculation procedure on 12 brf cakes:) im pretty confident in my sterile technique (i know pf tek isn't super contamn prone) but please send good vibes and luck this way for a brand new first time cultivator:D

Btw guys when i get a satisfactory answer from a thread do I just leave a final courtesy reply to seal the deal or is there like a 'answered' function on here?

Courteous replies are always noticed and appreciated by me. Continue on this route and you will really enjoy your time on this forum.

I'm sending good karma your way!  (and some ratings for your etiquette)
