If you could go back in time and give yourself the most valuable information to your amateur self, what would you say to get your past self to accelerate to the level you are at now as fast as possible, then be able to progress even further and faster?
Money wasters? Money savers? Time savers? Priceless investments? Great knowledge? Writeups, teks, istructions, information? Tell me something I don't know? Anything? Everything?
I greatly appreciate knowledge more than ya'll can comprehend, if you fell me please share with me, please do post up, hit me up, get through to me, PM me things that should be passed down in silence if need be? I don't know what you know, so let me in on it
I take everything in, I crave knowledge.
Give someone who has done a little bit of research, even more research, set someone with no practical cultivation experience up to be able to accelerate in the hobby as furthest and fastest as possible.
Put time and effort into this post.
Share with me something that can not be learned easily.
Any aspect of anything that relates to the topic, even if you think it's "off topic" it's not off topic, this post knows not of "off topic" as long as it branches off cultivation, I suppose, but if it doesn't, and you get what i'm putting out and think I should know, then please share with me. Regardless of an exception for trolls. Trolls are not appreciated at all.

So you are saying all the possible infinite number of random and unique strains(that have yet to be created mind you) are all bunk just because of the name someone wrote on a certain group of spores?
Not buying it.

You can grow strong equador, you need to isolate strong strains of equador.

Good advice here, especially pasty plates and avoiding other sites. The no fail WBS tek from another forum caused me lots of heartache.

My advice would be to start with sclerotia, if you buy from one particular vendor and mention you're a shroomery member they will usually throw in a few cube syringe too. So this way you have 2 grows at once, if the cube goes wrong at least you might have the sclerotia to fall back on.

Are you claiming to be the first to do this? was it under a different user name or site? I read about it before your reg date.

PF was said to have used agar in his syringes, think it was to make the spores suspend better in solution.

I took some mushrooms once and they told me they like FAE and water. This makes me an expert in all things mushroom related.

Agar is your friend, don't be afraid of it. Make your dry layers a bit thicker when working with vermiculite. Prints will last longer and produce better than syringes, depending on who makes.

Don't post a reply that has nothing to do with the original topic. This includes if someone says something to you that is off topic and upsets you, don't reply in that thread, reply in a pm or duke it out in another forum.

I would tell myself nothing. I'd let me fuck up in all the ways that I did so I know as much as I do now from experience. Cause now I can say "don't do this" because I tried it and it failed.
Well maybe I'd tell myself not to buy that first kit and to DIY. That's about it.

Money wasters? buying lots of spores (probs spent like $150 on spores LOL)
Money savers? bulk orders from good sources (petris, tubs, ect.) craigslist (I found a aa941 for $250 (vs. $400 retail))
Time savers? following a proven tek & in quantity (making ten tubs at once is easier than making one tub ten times).
Priceless investments? aa941 + propane burner time reading shroomery
Great knowledge?

Writeups, teks, istructions, information? foomans wbs tek, stro's cleaning & isolation on agar, posts by people who show good (well documented) results
-------------------- But if you're in a hurry, and really got to go If you're in a hurry, might have to find out slow That it's one thing to try and another to fly You get there quicker just a step at a time It's one thing to bark, another to bite The show ain't over till you pack up at night

+1 to everything here. Especially the first kit. But then I wouldn't have awesome pictures like this to convince noobs to DIY:

I never noticed anything other than spores floating around pf syringes. Never Any chunks.
I was registered back in 95/96 maybe. As I recall the shroomery went through a reboot in 99. I started experimenting with dunking cakes after reading mmgg about soaking shiitake logs after a flush.
