can anyone help with the alian substrate?

my friend made some and it was like making a goishy mess. Can anyone tell me what its supposed to look like how wet its supposed to look and everything else please help.

That does seem like a lot of water to cook the grains in -- I usually use like 3.3 qts grain or so to 4.5 qts water.

How did the grains cook -- was this a gooshy mess when it was done? You may want to add the powder to the verm, mix with a bit more water (to complete the recipe) like in the PF substrate and then mix this in with the cooked rice (using less water to cook the rice.) Just an idea.

If it's still too wet you may have to add less water, total -- remember the volume of water is dependant on things like temperature, too, so not every time will yeild the same results for every person.
