Making people pay you.

Can anyone in accounts receivable/payable give me some wisdom? I've been collecting from Joe Debtor for about a year and a half. I did so well that I am now taking over the best large balance desk in the office. Now I am calling small, medium, large, huge, and mega companies with a few regular people thrown in now and then; it's a whole other world collecting from companies.

That sounds like silly debtor logic to me. I'm evil for enforcing what you agreed to? I don't see understand how telling mega-sprogs to pay for their phone lines makes me evil.
Why does everyone in this country think it's okay to use credit and not pay for it and that there shouldn't be any consequences?
Imo your logic is just the debtor flipping the script so they can talk about what's wrong with me instead of their problem. Don't buy stuff you can't afford if you can't pay for it. When I collected from individuals it was mostly for early termination fees and people would act like I'm a huge Dick for telling them they have to pay for the $600 phone they just had to have. If you can't hold up your end of the contract then save and buy it outright. None of this is the collectors fault so stop acting like they're evil for confronting you about the bullshit you're trying to pull.
When you see someone arguing with the cashier about whether they can use their food stamps for bagel bites while talking on their iPhone 6 you can bet that they got it nearly free, didn't pay, jailbroke it at world of wireless, and that your monthly bill is much higher than it should be to cover the loss of all those unpaid for phones.

You are evil because you joined the group of people that harrass the living shit out of me on both my home line and my cell line, for debtors that are not even ME. Ive put my number on the no-call list. I ask every time they call asking for "John" or "Mark" or "Mr. cantspellthislastname". They are usually rude if not outright offensive and act like I'm lying about who I am.
So yes, you are evil for joining that group of assholes. The group of assholes that ignore the laws surrounding telco and protection laws for the receiver of the phone call. The only courtesy I get is they don't call me at 2 am, so thats a benefit I guess.
I get the idea behind it, and have nothing wrong with debt collectors calling people to collect debts owed. I do have a problem with how they act, how they skirt around laws, and treat every phone call as if they could NEVER have incorrect information and the person they are calling must be lying about everything. Then they just call and call and call and call and call and call no matter how many times I tell them I am not that person.
So yes, evil.
Also, what do you mean, by MY logic? You created an entire argument all by yourself, with yourself. All I said was but "you are evil" and gave no explanation of my logic behind the comment or anything,. :P
Proof debt collectors just ignore their audience and keep going on with whatever they think is going on.

Yeah I made an assumption.
I don't work for those companies. We remove wrong #s immediately; why would I want to call a wrong #?
You're generalizing my profession based on what your ears have experienced.
Anyway I'm calling the accounts payable offices of companies, not you, and they're usually full of shit and rude as fuck.

Threaten to break some kneecaps, that always works in the movies.
-------------------- “A democracy cannot exist as a permanent form of government. It can only exist until the voters discover that they can vote themselves largesse from the public treasury. From that moment on, the majority always votes for the candidates promising the most benefits from the public treasury with the result that a democracy always collapses over loose fiscal policy, always followed by a dictatorship.” (attributed to Alexis de Tocqueville political philosopher Circa 1835) Trade list http://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/18047755
