Which bolete do I have?
    #22113831 - 08/19/15 07:53 PM (8 years, 5 months ago)

I believe these are the same species, despite the cap colour difference. But what are they? I'm hoping they are edible

Habitat:
PNW, in spruce/subalpine-fir forest.

Gills:
no gills, pores. >1 per mm, circular, depressed

Stem:
reticulate, off white/cream coloured. not hollow

Cap:
light brown, cream (faded?). One ~3cm, the other ~6cm

Spore print color:
[edited] - finally got a very faint spore print after waiting about 24hrs. I would call it olive-green or pastel green... I couldn't get a good picture of it unfortunately.

Bruising:
looks like very faint pink bruising of flesh.

Other information:

Thanks guys! I called the spore print olive green, but maybe it is more of an olive brown after looking at some online pictures of olive brown prints. That may confirm a kind of B. edulis hey? Although I read on mushroomexpert.com that the jury is out on whether or not the B. edulis of Europe occurs in North America...
