BRF Cakes- Musings and Questions

Hey guys,
So I'm looking to get an answer that's hopefully not just anecdotal.
I'm going to be birthing some cakes (not very many). I am at this point going to be using a shotgun fruiting chamber (although I'm not married to the idea if there's a better option) and from what I'm seeing,
Quote:
RogerRabbit said: It needs to be at least sixteen to eighteen inches tall for proper distribution of air, regardless of how many cakes are inside. Smaller terrariums perform poorly compared to larger ones. RR
Quote:
CH HELL said: Bigger is better. Make sure it is big enough for all your cakes/trays and still have surface area not covered, also make sure it is tall enough for large fruits. 4-5" perlite and 10-18" space above for mushrooms. CH
... 20 to 22 inches in height would be best, and in general- the bigger, the better.
How big of a chamber is /enough/?
--------------------- To a trusted cultivator that has actually tried and successfully used the Shotgun TEK, are these big enough? Can I get away with smaller (and yet have optimal fruits)? Am I better off ditching the shotgun in favor of a different TEK?

sgfc is the way to go for cakes. and size depends on how many your growing and if you plan on going bigger in the future. i made a giant 110 qt cause i planned on doing mad cakes and some trays as well and i drilled holes for fucking ever and i did one cake grow then started doing monotubs. i used the sgfc for a while after for little trays though to test isolates but i ended up jut tossing it cause it took up so much room.
i think you can make it too big if you only have a few cakes. it might just be my limited experience with cakes but when i only had a few in that huge sgfc they didnt do as good as when i had 10-12 in there.
maybe look at a 66qt tub and kinda gauge from there with what you got going on

I'd listen to RR if I were you. He experimented with all that shit.

OK. I went to birth a jar just now- a couple days ago, I tries to peek in with a flashlight, and saw possibly some grey mold on the top (dry verm layer). I just opened the jar and I saw

What should I do? Dunk as normal?

Okay, I birthed a cake. It's been in the fruiting chamber five days. A good portion of the vermiculite with which I dunked the cake has been colonized. What do?
