Obviously doing something wrong

Okay, I've got issues and need some help. This is my first grow and nothing is happening. I've been trying for about 6 weeks. I started with an lc to bulk out the spores I managed to obtain (it's tough finding spore where I am) to me the lc looks good. I've made four pints of it and all of it is filled with light, fluffy clouds. The oldest jar is six weeks, the newest 2. This is where my success ends. I started with wbs (10 jars) 2 weeks later the jars started looking runny with no growth of any description. (my seeds had started to split too (why won't shrooms grow on split grain?)). When I opened the jars two smelled sour, the rest were runny but fine in terms of smell. Then I decided to hedge my bets. (5 popcorn, 5 wbs) two weeks later, more split seeds and pop corn - I haven't opened them but nothing is happening. On Sunday, I tried again. This time bfr cakes, this seems promising. There may be some growth, but nothing conclusive. I'll give it another few days. Here's a pic of my lc (best I could get) any suggestions would be amazing.

even though LC seems like a good way to expand spores a lot, it fails a lot of the time.
i would try going direct to grains, or using PastyWhyte's easy agar TEK.
LC's can work really well. but from spores, its a huge gamble. some burst grains are ok, really depends on how wet the area around the burst grains are. if u have really dry, but burst grains, its usually OK IME. but wet plus burst can be bad

What method are you using to prep your WBS prior to inoculating? Grains definitely shouldn't be "runny", sounds like you might be sucking up and injecting excess liquid from your LC. Excessive moisture will inhibit mycelium growth and increase chances of contam in my experience. If done correctly, grains should look almost dry.
As for the split grain.. haven't seen this before.

mushrooms don't give up. they always die trying. whatever hard ships you encounter while cultivating are ten times worse for the mycelium at hand. if it doesn't give up, neither should you.
No chance of me giving up. I'd love to get it right with this syringe though. Thank you for the advice.

I tried this same thing when I was new...straight failed you gotta test your LC on a cake, grain jar or the best option agar before you noc up multiple jars heres a clean LC at 2 weeks its a cubensis LC taken from a 9er tek clone keep at it bro and listen to blindingleaf he knows his shit edit: what was your LC recipe ? why is it so merky/dark?

Your LC is contaminated with bacteria. That's why it's cloudy.
Solution: don't use LC. Start over and throw those 4 pints away.

Just my opinion, but i would highly recommend getting into agar work. I spent too many months with LC's and wasted too much time and money.
Working with agar to isolate a strain is the way to go. Once you have an agar wedge you could always drop that into some sterile water as well.
