after first flush, got mold and aborts

I spawned wbs to hpoo inside a mini greenhouse with ultrasonic humidifier and a fan for FAE.
First flush was slowish but pretty successful. It seemed to flush in a wave across the tray, so my last day of harvest ended up about a week and a half after the first, with bunches of mushrooms being ready to harvest about twice a day, in between. After all had been picked, I dunked the tray by filling it with tap water until the mycelium was floating and sprayed the top with tap water, letting it sit like that for about 2 hours. Then I drained the water and put a gentle little fan blowing across the top to dry the water spray a bit, before re-introducing to fruiting conditions.
Any pins that had been there aborted within 12 hrs and all pins that started after that also aborted. Exactly ONE mushroom (albeit a one ouncer) has grown from the tray and fully 1/3 of the tray has green mold all over it.
What did I do wrong??? I kept 99% humidity with a fan that would kick on once an hour to pull fresh air thru, long enough to bring humidity down into the 80's before turning off and cranking up the humidifier again.
Any thoughts, especially from trusted cultivators would be GREATLY appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I never dunk after a first flush. As long as you got your sub to field cap it should have enough water for 2 or 3 flushes already. In the past dunking helped the green shit get in faster!

Yeah. That makes sense. Anything I can do about the mold? Will my tray ever pin again? I've heard H202 and possibly a 1% bleach solution can help. H202 is doing nothing. Haven't tried the bleach.

Toss that thing.. don't let it just keep releasing spores around your area. Bleach and h2o2 won't kill it.. work on your techniques.

My post did beg the question; "How did I cause this?".. Kind of implying I'd like to "work on my techniques" if someone can offer some helpful advise...
There's lots of info about getting us to that first flush - not so much on what needs to be done afterwards to prep for subsequent flushes. Maybe I posted in the wrong place?
Advise is what I'm looking for here, admonishment "can" be helpful, and I can certainly hear "throw that mess out" ANNND I'm hoping to prevent this issue in future grows. Any advise on how to do THAT?
Thanks again.

Don't do anything after the first flush... just leave it alone and it will produce more mushrooms on its own.

I don't dunk anymore. A thorough misting is all it needs
Also when you get a contamination early.. it isn't the environment. The mycelium was weakened and contaminated. I can't tell you why it was weakened.

Mad Season said: There's lots of reasons. All of them stemming from the fact the mycelium shit the bed. And if it does sooner than it should, it's a problem that should be fixed. bacteria(more bacteria) through improperly sterilized grains(I've upped my pc times and changed grains too many times to count, but I'm loving oats, I do most qt jars 2 hours @15-20psi), improper pasteurization (manure CAN'T be over or under cooked. That's why I do 140-160, closer to 140 for no more than 60 minutes), improper hydration(biggest problem people have with bulk), hidden contams from improper procedures and there's many more stuff I bet you could improve on.
P.S. I didn't say toss them all. Just the ones with trich, and to always work on improving the conditions for the myc. The healthier the myc, the better things will be
If you don't do agar, do it. And if you do do agar, read the hidden contams link, and be way more cautious and thorough. Only use organized cultures.

Excellent! Lots of good advice there. Thank you. Will read the hidden contams link. I suspect my sub was a bit too wet to start with, which was exacerbated when I dunked and sprayed. I made the assumption that since the substrate shrunk during the first flush, that it was drying out too much.
Haven't done Agar yet. I think I'm ready to give it a shot - once I do due diligence on researching the "how".
Thanks! PS I can't complain too much, first flush gave me just about 5 oz dry ;-)
