KSSS. Didn't you say they are more difficult? Guess I got lucky. For the first time in my life I've gotten the benefit of the old adage "I'd rather be lucky than good." And I've got a whole lot more of those guys in the pipeline. 2 micro-mini-monos and the second cut of a clone going on agar.
Thanks to both you and Pasty for your assistance. We're going to have some fun. These puppies put my dick in the dirt, man! "I'm melting!!!"

Thanks, all. You guys are really encouraging, and I thank you a lot.

This is the latest picture of the same tub, second flush. It looks terrible! But the mutha is pinning like a sumbitch. Goodness gracious, I am learning a lot in this hobby. It's great.

Not bad, pin set looks good, but why didn't you stuff that hole with polyfill in the first pic?

Eco-felt. It works well on this mini-mono. I was going to use poli, but wanted to try this. The holes are enormous. I could never get a ball of poli that tight in a hole that size. I thought it was a good idea to use a tomato paste can to burn the holes. A coffee can worked great for the armholes in my SAB, so why not? Well, I didn't quite think it through and measure the diameter of the can. Oops. But the poli-felt seems to have the evaporation just right. I pulled off the tape on one end and the humidity crashed. Put the tape back on the lower row of holes at the top ends, and the dry rings became good again.
I'm learning, I hope.

I've used the small tomato paste cans for my last monotubs. The diameter was about 2", but I can always tape around the sides of the hole to reduce it, then stuff with poly. You can do the same thing with the holes in your mono if you want. The only thing with holes that big, is that the surface may dry up faster, which will limit the size of the fruits. The dry rings are not always the best indicator of proper humidity levels, I always like to follow the monotub teks to a T, just to be on the safe side.

I do too! But I have read so much that sometimes I mix them up. Or am fucked up and read it wrong. Done that, for sure. I try. If you've read my advice posts to fellow noobs, I tell them to follow the tek to the letter, because you have to have a baseline. Then, you can deviate and observe the results in comparison. I don't know any other way, except for stumbling around, which even with my best efforts, I still end up having to diagnose my mistakes. Fortunately, these guys are forgiving.
Pasty's mini-mono tek is terrific. This is a 20 qt and it's dialed in and producing. Looks like shit, but since this is my first second flush, I have nothing to compare with. Maybe second flushes always look like shit.

When this one finishes and I am cleaning up the tub, I'll silicone the filters in, on the inside. Then I can adjust the tape on the outside. This is going to be my largest container, the one I plan to use to grow the sacred culture, if I'm lucky enough to stumble onto one.

Second Flush
Edit: 163 grams. Total for my first tub so far--683 grams. Over 2/3rds of a pound from a 20qt mini-mono. Or dry, over 12 trips for the us. We're very proud of the mushrooms for providing us so much fun.
