Oh, I see you got coir w/ trich added... To be honest I don't know much about that, but I would venture to say... Proper pasturation should work... It kills those contams and bacteria that need to go and keeps all the beneficial bacteria... To stave off all the bad while your spawn colonizes the substrate...

Tbo I use to use coir from a hydroponic store and had alot of trich issue and once I realized it had trich added (because it promotes healthy root growth in plants) I stopped using and switched to eco earth from the pet store and my trich issues went away almost over night. Maybe it was a coincidence, idk but I'll never use the hydroponic store shit anymore lol

I'm confused about whether or not there is a chance that they will spawn without contamination. In the jar when they are colonizing they are super healthy with no contams. Or are they all doomed to be contaminated due to the 1 hour PC time?
If you have jars that you haven't inoculated yet, I would recook them. How many jars are we talking?
If you have like a half dozen jars inoculated and that's all you have then you can ride them out and hope for the best. You could get lucky. You may not want to spawn to large bulk though. If you don't have a fuckton of jars, it is probably safest to do individual trays for each qt jar of grains. Don't put all your eggs in one basket.
Dunno how I missed that he was using coir in the OP, thanks for highlighting that Mad Season.

probably just a coincidence unless you lost a lot of temperature quickly but I dont see how thats possible if you just bucket it.
I wouldn't throw away the grains, but you should post a pic of each and every one of them before spawning them together.

according to one poster trich dies @30 mins in a PC set at 15psi so I would think that risk would not be coming from the substrate or the spawn but like another poster had said something from the environment + weakened mycellium which was a result of my noobness which I have since corrected.
I hope that when I removed the infected tray the spores didnt somehow contaminate the other tub. the other two trays that were in the same tub as the infected tray look fine, I'll keep a close eye on them.
Juiceh the plan is to spawn into bulk 1 quart of spawn per 3 quarts of substrate per turkey foil pan, I will be making 9 pans total filling three tubs. I already have prepared the substrate so I mine as well use it i guess.
Crossing my fingers really, really hard. I'll be spawning to bulk in 2-4 days, it's close. the jars look good, all white, vigorous growth.

Um weakened mycelium comes from a huge array of things. Including spawn. Always ALWAYS work on improving your prep procedures.

Mad Season said: There's lots of reasons. All of them stemming from the fact the mycelium shit the bed. And if it does sooner than it should, it's a problem that should be fixed. bacteria(more bacteria) through improperly sterilized grains(I've upped my pc times and changed grains too many times to count, but I'm loving oats, I do most qt jars 2 hours @15-20psi), improper pasteurization, improper hydration, hidden contams from improper procedures and there's many more stuff I bet you could improve on.
P.S. I didn't say toss them all. Just the ones with trich, and to always work on improving the conditions for the myc. The healthier the myc, the better things will be
Dirty spawn will greatly fuck things up.
