recently i notice a few of my jars dry verm layer getting whispy rhizo growth thru it. My jars we left overnight to cool, innoc on the first and some are about 50% colonized. i dont have the innoc holes covered and room temp is steady 75. the dry layer is definitly dry and the rhizo growth goes right into it . some of my cakes sunk down as i dont pack my substrate into the jars. i am using prof. grade vermiculite. my recipe was 2:1:1 brf/verm/water.

yep if it's just in the dry layer it may be ok, maybe make a little pop bottle chamber for it

i figure 8 out of 10 aint to bad considering one never germinated and this one has trich. ill wait n see , wash n dunk it and isolate it in seperate fc. i plan to get a clone off one of these cakes and transfer to grain as the ultimate goal. then reuse pf jars to start a batch of treasure coast brf pf tek to clone to grain. of course clone to agar then grain
