stalled jar Q's

I have a bunch of different strains (all cubes) growing on brf/Verm cakes. There are a couple that seemed to have just stopped growth... My question now is what are my options, should I take it out Cut off all of the un colonized sections and case, or can you do A grain to grain type deal but starting with brown rice flour and put it in wild bird seed sterilized jar? Let me know what the best options are, I really don't want to just waste these jars because they are so close to being done, well most of them at least. Thanks
