you cant make sure anything is done right when you buy a kit.
the instructions suck because they dont know wtf they're doing which is also a big reason why the kit itself sucks.

:whathesaid::whathesaid::whathesaid:

Next time do it yourself and do it right. I just wanted you to at least get something out of this. For the love of god don't get kits lol

Also side pins aren't so bad in a small tray since the lip is so close to the surface of the substrate. They're big bitches in monotubs though. Just wait for them to mature and go pick everything

Ok thanks for the responses.
I stopped misting so much and fanned more to promote pinning, its been pinning quite a lot for a kit.

so should i keep misting low or should i give it more now?
Basically at this stage i want the fruits to become as big as possible, is misting more appropriate now?
I dont mean drenching it, maybe misting the sides of the bag and  lightly on the substrate?
Past few days ive just very lightly misted and nothing on the bag itslef.

You don't need to mist the bag at all. Just keep up with what you're doing. Keep the surface damp/moist/glistening with no pooling water or excess water lol. I like to mist a bit heavier in between flushes instead of dunking

In my opinion, grow kits are absolutly amazing. They are easy, you can't fail with them (or you have to be very dirty) and no knowledge is required (even if knowledge about mushrooms is incredible).

I have had my most potent mushrooms from grow kits, and they cost 37 euros : for around 500 wet gr. In the end, they are not so much expensive.

Which part made you "what"?

Don't be offended, i'm as interested in growing my mushrooms from scratch as you are, but this is just my opinion about grow kits. They are my best and easiest solution here in my area.

Gyo we're obviously noobs. Telling people to do it themselves. The success has always been in the grow kits! What were we thinking?!

Is that like 500 grams in a flush? Or 500 overall?

Definitely this part:

I have cultures that push out 500gr wet in a single flush lol, that's probably less then 2 ozs dried.

But me and Mad are noobs, what do we know

I probably spend less in material then you do on a grow kit.

Guys, I never said you were noobs what is wrong with you ? I know you are very proud of your grows and I can't thank shroomery enough for existing. But i've compared growing from scratch and grow kits, and I like grow kits better.

I need mushrooms only for my own consumption (and my friends) which means I don't need to grow a shit ton of shrooms, grow kits are good for that too.

And for money matters : I don't mind money, so the issue isn't the price of grow kits vs. pf tek etc...
Why do you have to get sarcastic and rude in this debate? the psychedelic experience teaches us empathy and love, and the debate of ideas...

Anyway, have fun

well its sort of right, you yourself cant fail with them because the manufacturer usually already did fuck them up.
if you DIY at least you can figure out what's wrong, those kit making guys will probably never figure out whats up they're just laughing at you and counting their money.

Also because this is at least the 10th person I've helped this month with their kit. It's bad information to spread (A HUGE NONO) because eventually they're going to come on here asking what they did wrong. And everyone will say they need more fae, and to do it right the first time. People who read a tek and follow it don't have those problems. See what I'm saying?

Yes I get you and i'm with you in this. I just meant you don't have to get angry at an opinion about this gift from nature (mushrooms, not grow kits :P ).

Word. I wasn't really angry lol. Sarcastic maybe, but I was just thinking about the next set of people reading this I'd be telling needs fae to, and to do it themselves. I'm just really against spreading misinformation. It's so much nicer on everyone to do things right.

Altho I must agree it would be great experience for those who don't know what bad conditions do to the sub and the mushrooms. Something I know all kit users would never regret. Assuming you're actually interested in this hobby
