Anyway. I'm gonna be posting what's common commercial practices here in my country. I'd like for the vets to check it out please... hehehe.still compiling pics. ..

Because he was spamming random threads with bullshit and then went through and deleted them all and is generally being sketchy.

So before I swipe my loop err squirt syringe in there I have been tapping the sides of the mini round before putting in sab. Then removing foil putting the paper towel inside the foil down on the floor inside sab and dumping out excess liquid. I am always reading threads complaining about the condensation in them but what I just described above hasn't yielded extra contams at any rate and it's pretty simple. I don't get very many contams either and I'm not the smoothest most steady guy.. my random 2¢. Glass jars just seem to stay hydrated way longer and they shatter which is a bad thing if you drop shit all the time.

1.) Does incubating on agar need gas exchange? I have a wobbly lid on the plastic container I used, so I shoved it in a zip lock bag.
2.) The micropore tape -- isn't that full of contams? I just PCd a pastyplate and taped the hole (so it doesnt collapse in PC vaccum) with micropore which got me thinking how sterile that micropore tape was.

1, I dont believe it does, I wrap some of my plats with saran wrap. 2. if there's contaminants on the tape it will get pc'd and kill them. the paper towel help's keep the spore tape dry, if it gets wet it could potentially allow contams to travel through. if your paper tower seems wet let the plates sit and dry in your sab, put the foil back over and leave it be for a bit before inoculating. Be sure to put two pieces of tape over the hole. thats what I think, but i'm a newbie. hehe.. someone will correct me if im wrong.
Have fun with agar, it's fun and decreases contams.

I have this one pasty plate that's been kicking around for maybe a month and a half.. I dont know why i'm keeping it, the growth is not impressive but its clean. I usually keep them in ziplock bags but this one is just sitting in a tub with other stuff. So the spore tape must work pretty good for this purpose.

ok pasty check out what i been doing lately. bringing the pressure up slowly.
stack the normal rack. fill with water. place 3 wide mouth 1/2 pints. stack the 2nd rack.
put all the pasty plates on top, then put a glass/metal lid to stabilize them. pc 45 mins.
if i do 24 or more plates i do something a little different with the 2nd rack.

Not sure if you guys do this or not but once I fill the containers I let them cool to room temp before putting the lids and foil on. Practically eliminates condensation all together

i raised the 2nd plate in hopes that it wouldn't boil the agar over and splash the sides. its been working well so far.
forgot to mention.
if i do two tiers. ill put the glass 1/2 pints on the bottom of the pc(or do something similar to what you do with metal bands to raise the first rack out of the water). put the pasty plates on that rack. then stack the 2nd rack. on top of those pasty plates(this holds the 1st level plates in place). put the 2nd level of pasty plates on that. then place the glass/metal lid over the 2nd tier to hold them in place.

Sounds like an awesome idea, eat. I'm tired of having 2-3 slanted pasty plates every batch.

I'm about to use this tek for a second time, but actually do something with the inoculated plates instead of let them sit around.
Thanks, Pasty!! I think it's pretty awesome how you've affected the entire grow game for many people.
Quick question.. I'd like to get a microscope or smartphone lens adaptor to better identify contaminations on my plates.
Does anyone have any suggestions?
