MDMA and lucid dreaming/sleep paralysis
    #22099603 - 08/16/15 05:21 PM (8 years, 5 months ago)

I've noticed a pattern! Its uncanny!

What I've noticed is that about 2-3 days following a moderate roll (about 300mg) I get crazy fucking lucid dreams. These aren't just vivid dreams, the main theme of them is that I realize in the dream that I'm dreaming. Once I realize that I can do anything I want in them. I've never really lucid dreams before but the ecstasy is doing something to my serotonin that is causing some intense fucking shit.

Also, I get these terrifying bouts of sleep paralysis usually in the same night. Its like I cycle from lucid dreaming to sleep paralysis. Sleep paralysis isn't nearly as cool as lucid dreaming. Imagine being about to be raped and not being able to move but seeing everything and that's sleep paralysis.

Logic would dictate this has something to do with serotonin, but I don't really know. I just thought it was cool. MDMA is a trip maaaaaaan!

I dunno, serotonin is usually responsible for trippy shit, and this is trippy shit.

Yup I would always get bouts of sleep paralysis the Tuesday after a weekend of rolling.

Dude after rolling I always get crazy vivid dreams, its insane! Psychedelic as all hell! Its actually really cool. I think it has to do with the fact that serotonin regulates sleep and stuff. My theory is this: the vivid dreams usually kick in about 2 days after the last time you roll. To me this would indicate that the vivid dreams are a result of the serotonin replenishing and flooding your brain with dream molecules. Since your brain was so depletes for so long its like it was starved for serotonin and the receptors were like dry sponges waiting to get wet. When the serotonin starts to come back those receptors just eat that shit up which I would think would happen at night since you replenish when you sleep. The culminative effect is vivid and weird dreams. This is purely conjecture though, I don't really know one way or the other.
