110 days no cigarettes
3 months pescatarian
1 month no dairy
Have lost 38 pounds from my max weight. My skin is clear. I have a job that I enjoy, a living situation I like, a clear head, and I am saving money for the first time in my life.

Nice man. Especially quitting the cigarettes because I see how hard it is for a lot of people to stop.

I'd like to take this moment to congratulate you on doing good for yourself and watching over your health!
Thank you for taking the time to care for yourself
Just one question, If i may, why did you choose pescatarian over going vegetarian?
Keep it up man!
Good to hear from you!

I might go vegetarian eventually. Not sure. My decision not to eat certain kinds of things is based on ethics. I suspect that consciousness is a fundamental property of the universe, and is present in all things in varying degrees which correlate with the amount of information represented by those things, in therms of state-change complexity. Thus for me the choice in whether or not eat something does not depend upon the fact THAT something conscious, since all things including plants and even atoms contain some degree of conscious, but rather upon DEGREE of consciousness. There is a decent amount of neurological and behavioral evidence to support the notion that (most if not all) fish are not really conscious of pain. Furthermore, fish is the most abundant efficient, renewable source of lean protein that is loaded with the vital amino acids that support healthy brain function. In order to obtain the same nutrients as a vegan (which I would have to be rather than vegetarian since I do not consume dairy), it would be necessary to eat a much greater quantity of carbohydrates and saturated fats, which I would rather avoid.

Thank you for sharing that with me!
I limit my dairy greatly myself, I haven't drank dairy milk for ever (almond ftw!) nor have I used butter (coconut oil Extra virgin!). Its cheese which gets me however.
I share you ethical sentiments, and ideas on consciousness it sounds quite similar to one of my reasons for being vegetarian and I hope you continue your endeavors for that reason and many other benefits!
For me its not ethics alone, but every reason one could fathom, from health to ethics to food security, to my own feelings and emotions on the matter.
Hope you have the most radiant day Morrow!
and again great to hear from you
Reflectively yours,
Ras

Fish aren't really abundant sadly. 90% of large commercial fish are gone. The oceans are massively over fished and are virtually fished clean. It's a huge crisis that most people are not aware of.
I think pescatarian is a very good diet choice though. Just make sure you get sustainable seafood and don't wat shrimp (shrimp is the most ecologically unfriendly seafood)

I don't eat shrimp. I pretty much only eat farm-raised salmon. They will GM fish that can auto-reproduce very soon.

good for you man
im ready to quit drinking after 18 years ive been a stone cold alchy forever and smoked weed for almost 20 years
im about to be 34 in November
I have a date set this Friday
I haven't been sober in almost 20 years and I want to live life without drugs and alcohol
I have lotsa of benzos and such to help me kick drinking
its gonna be hard now I know especially now that im into craft beer
I haven't smoked weed in two weeks and I have a med card
I do miss weed but it makes me insane nowadays because it just reminds me how shitty my life is and the horrible decisions ive made in the past
also I have a lengthy prison sentence hanging over my head and has contributed to a lot of stress and shit even though im innocent in my mind
ive stopped drinking before cold turkey and it felt like I had the flu for 3 days
I stopped for 2 months but did oxys and weed and shit
fuck that
ive spent a fortune on beers and weed in my life,i could have had a sweet house and car
I spend about 10$ a day on beer but for YEARS/decades and used to spend about 50-$70 on weed for decades
no benzos nothing
thanks for being a inspiration

I'm thinking of buckling down health- and occupation-wise soon myself. Mind if I ask how old you are and what motivated you to do this? Congrats, and thanks for posting your successes!

the name actually has nothing to do with "getting wasted", i had this username online long before I started drinking and doing drugs. I picked it when I joined the morrowind forums because I wasted so much time playing the game and it just stuck
